Trump acting a legitimate fucking retard. Desantis even said he was looking at the governor's race and not looking into the future. Yeah that may be a polite way of saying he isn't going to announce a run now but you don't fucking attack him and try to bait him into running. Because that's all this is gonna do.

I've felt this way about Trump for a long time. He's always been a self-aggrandizing conman. When his supporters needed him most, he only pardoned his corrupt business associates instead of people who are, to this day, in solitary confinement for glorified trespassing.

Trump only has my support because he makes the journos, neocons, and neofeudalists seethe. Anyone who makes them this irrationally angry has got to be doing some good on accident.

Voted Trump twice and I loved the guy and the whole presidential journey was a hoot but he's become an absolutely unhinged, delusional retard since the total shitshow that was the last presidential election.

It seemed like he still had a semblance of tact even as brash as he was throughout his first term but it's been a drip feed of decline since 2020. So many issues could have just been solved by shutting his mouth at opportune times but his ego has become uncontrollable since reaching God Emperor status.

fwiw, the message is pretty obvious, and also reminds people that desantis wouldn't be anywhere near where he is now without him.

and trump is trump, if things turn around he'll push him the same why he shits on him now, which he can even turn into a big speech as "we had our differences but our goal is the same" etc.

All that means is they're "out of play" no matter what, maybe we should count ourselves lucky that Libertarians don't vote for blue or red, they share policies with both Rs and Ds so many of them might not vote for our guy anyway and end up widening the voting gap for Republicans.

If you know Trump is hot headed, if you know he has taken a liking to you over the past 3 years because he saved your political career and showed you off like a golden child, and you know he's not going to go down without a fight, why would you not just give an honest answer about running?

When even mid tier governors have said they won't run if Trump runs, or even RINOs like Nikki Haley, and even now enemies like Pence is saying he will run, there's something very odd about being mum. At some point it stops becoming cute and becomes annoying and rather generic Reagan-era GOP thinking.

Trump has served his purpose: he taught the R's how to play to win, and not kowtow to people who hate your guts.

But other people need to take that up. He's gonna be dead in 10 or 15 years. Going after DeSantis will create unnecessary strife at a VERY bad time.

And after J6, I think the Swamp will straight-up assassinate Trump before letting him anywhere near the White House again. He has way too much baggage to be re-electable.

Ron is Don, but with a filter and more self-control. Shitlibs are arguably more scared of him.

Honestly, I’m at the point where I think it literally doesn’t matter who wins in 2024. And I don’t mean that in a doomer way - I mean it in the sense of what can any President do against the obvious and inevitable oncoming global depression? Even if Trump wins in 2024, there will be no return to prosperity - even if he plays every hand right without any obstruction from enemies on both sides of the aisle, the absolute best he can possibly do is to mitigate the damage. The world is bigger than America, and regardless of how things are handled domestically, it doesn’t change the fact that America’s allies overseas (and, to be fair, our enemies overseas as well) are in for a VERY rough decade, which will obviously blow back on America as well because American corporations make a significant amount of profit overseas. At this point it’s not a matter of who handles things better in the moment, but who is set up for a better recovery in the aftermath of the inevitable, and I think in that respect Trump has done his job.

What's DeSantis's appeal to the Blue Collar guys who like Trump? Because if he can't bring them out you might as well just give the race to the Dems.
