I completely disagree. This is a war for national identity and independence for Ukraine...it has and will continue to unify the country and as they keep winning their people's commitment to their country will only increase. Post-war Ukraine is going to be an absolute beast in economic terms given its location and there probably won't be much corruption anymore either as the old Soviet elements that dominate the Russian collaborators will either be imprisoned or killed.

Corruption is the death of any nation and it's shocking Russia let this cancer spread so much throughout every aspect of its country before launching a major war. Putin is a really evil, corrupt fuck so I'm not surprised though...no decent human being would have ever joined the KGB.

Russia really stepped in shit on this one thinking it could vassalize its Eastern Europe satellites like it did back in the Soviet or Empire days, but they totally underestimated just how weak they are compared to NATO.

I will say this thread has been interesting to read on the backburner since its start. Remember when it was full of a lot of Russian supporters insisting that things are going according to plan, then to there being some hiccups but Russian military is powerful enough to take control overtime, to now just a lot of those posters going away.

I think the more concerning thing out of this, is what is gonna go on in Russia if they do give up on this conflict or keep going through with the sunk cost fallacy? Not gonna help their people morale at all and just gonna piss them off more with all the sacrifices that were made for it too.

Did Russia even make any pros with this conflict? Cause it even caused neutral nations to push for NATO membership. I guess the only thing I can think of is screwing several European nations out of gas, but I feel that hurts the Russian too with less sales in turn less money to fund the war efforts.

That doesn't make sense, even if Russia moved its IDAS network back to the Crimean peninsula (~<60 miles in Armiansk) they'd still be within the scan, lock-on, and engagement range of Russian long range air defenses. Helicopters maybe free reign, but definitely not jets.

More social media reports saying Russia pulled pulled all Air Defense capability around Kherson and as consequence the Ukrainian Air Force is operating with impunity.

Probably a mix of both on top of the regular chaos of war. I wouldn't be surprised if the RFAF was actually retarded enough to move their IADS network in a manner to which it would expose rear-level units like the Tor, Buk, and S-300. The chance of just being badly coordinated even within a well executed retreat is also possible.

Why wouldn't they believe it? A large chunk of Russian populace and people simping for Russia bought narratives about feints and were rejecting Moskva's sinking in spite of all evidence until Russian government formally confirmed it.

Its not the strategy of leaving Kherson that's assinine, its the notion that this scripted televised meeting was the formal decision to leave.
