This is going to be a pretty big blow not only to Lucas, but to other troons and "victims" of the farms. Maybe Collins was a doe eyed and overly optimistic retard who put aside the healthy skepticism that any journos are supposed to have, getting drawn in by his lies and phony poorly acted tears on CBC, but there were already few good reasons from a journoscum POV to want to work with Lucas. Now there are none.

If it were a slow news day, Collins would probably lose his job over this, but twitter melting down and the midterm elections too close to call in a lot of high profile local and state races, this probably won't get the coverage it deserves and he'll probably get a "holy shit you're a retard, don't do that again" writeup at worst.

Now, any other journos who MIGHT have wanted to work with Lucas on a story are unlikely to dare bother, because they have no way to know that he's not going to "accidentally" out them on stream. We don't know whether there's some behind the scenes drama and this was intentional, or just sheer incompetence. And both we and journos all know about Hanlon's Razor. But nobody with more than a couple of functioning brain cells is going to risk it any more either way.

Minor pet peeve, why are there always responses like this when something new has been discovered about a corrupt institution? Should people not be continuously digging into these organizations and finding more dirt? Like, no fucking shit, everyone on this site knows that NBC isn't a squeaky clean perfect angel media org, and we're not presenting new findings like they just shattered our belief that they were. Imagine any news story about a politician getting caught in a predator sting or whatever, and people are borderline chastising the people that did the reporting because "if you thought that politicians weren't pedophiles, you're late to the party, buddy! Hyuck hyuck!" It adds as much to the conversation as saying "oof" or "yikes" and implicitly devalues people doing actual digging where it matters.

The chance of this is definitely in the double digits.

This is a good point and I'm guilty of it at times. I just realized the name was the same as the one Null mentioned on MATI and the two pieces clicked together.

His stance on journalists is good and giving someone who is trying to write hit pieces on you ammo and the ability to twist your words the time of day is pointless. I thought he conducted himself as best as he could given the amount of heat the site got in an artificial attempt to wipe it out.

I'm not sure that trying to dig up dirt on journos will lead to anything other than confirming what we already know and give reason to draw fire from them. Institutions are only as good as the people that populate them and drawing attention to reach an obvious conclusion seems foolish at face value. But it makes sense to keep tabs on who is saying what. I want this site to be around for as long as it can.
