Putin has been pushing the limits for years now, and he finally went too far. Its going to cost Russia dearly. We are watching the current global order shift under our feet in real time. If Ukraine wins this war, they will be without question, the greatest military power on the Eurasian Continent bar China.
Right, its all Putin, nobody else was involved, he just decided to invade on a whim without any sort of prompting and there isn't two decades of prologue to this conflict that makes NATO look just as shitty as Russia. Make no mention of the borderline psychotic military adventurism and nonstop coups the Bush and Obama administrations got up to for nearly 15 years. The group responsible for this batch of suffering is the American deepstate who ran the Maidan coup, everything else is just reactive to that event. Putin is no angel, but the American deepstate is a blight upon the globe, and needs to be exterminated for the benefit of all mankind, the coups in Libya and Syria were so devoid of purpose or direction that they remain unresolved hellscapes to this day that are heavy burdens to other NATO members like Turkey, Greece, and Italy.

The American deepstate caused this war, they prolong it and profit from it. The first thing out of everyone's mouth should be condemnation of these dickheads.

The next 3 months are going to be critical for Russia. 100% Ukraine is going to make a play for Melitapol. If they can can cut the land route and put the Kerch Straight Bridge into artillery range the situation for Russia in Crimea is going to become grim very quickly.

Even in my wildest dreams I never thought I would write this.

Ukraine could end the war with the full restoration of its pre 2014 borders.
They've likely spent themselves in pushing on Kherson, closing out the Kharkov sector, and pushing back in the Donbass. The winter will be a breather for both sides.

I could see a big spring offensive

Putin had done it. He had changed the borders of Europe, and had gotten away clean. All he had to do was die gracefully in office. But it just was not enough. He had to have more. He had to carry Russia all the way to the Polish and Moldovan borders. He is the very definition of a gambler, who having won a large pot decides to risk it all on one last throw of the dice.
Can you blame him? Nobody lifted a finger every other time.

Well maybe the vodka niggers will learn their lesson, and take a moment reconsider next time they do something the US military industrial complex doesn't like.

Russia had the choice to just sit back and enjoy watching the United States fuck it's girlfriend. Now it just gets to watch without pleasure.

So anyway, Ukrainians treat their POWs with respec not like those ORCS
In case this invites retarded autism, yeah I know this guy isn't a POW, it's even worse. He did more than surrender, they could have easily thrown him in jail or done something less ironically orcish but nope, gotta get some theatrics out of him for social media.

coincidence?

OK, hohol lovers, you have your one paltry victory with Kherson. But, if you think that Ukraine will advance any further, you will be gravely disappointed. The Russians now have layer of impenetrable barricades along the perimeter or LEGAL RUSSIAN land.

No hohol dare cross these treacherous defenses

Um, this dude was not killed by Ukrainians. He was recruited by Wagner from a prison, where he was serving a 30 year sentence (god knows what for). He fought for Wagner in a penal unit and was taken prisoner by Ukraine, and was exchanged in a prisoner swap. In that last tape he is back in Wagner custody as a deserter, and is being executed by concrete mallet to the head as a warning to other prison convicts who try to surrender.

That's not to say Ukrainian soldiers are not committing war crimes; I'm sure some are, and there are probably more credible examples already posted here. But in this specific case it is Wagner executing a convict soldier to warn other convicts not to surrender.

Russia's Yevgeny Prigozhin, a close ally of President Vladimir Putin, said on Sunday that a former mercenary who was filmed being executed by a sledgehammer blow to the head after changing sides in the Ukraine war was a traitor.

Prigozhin, a Russian businessman who founded the Wagner private military group, was responding to an unverified video distributed on Telegram that showed a man identified as a former Wagner mercenary being executed after admitting that he had changed sides in September to "fight against the Russians".

In the footage, the man, who gave his name as Yevgenny Nuzhin, 55, was shown with his head taped to a brick wall. He said he was abducted in Kyiv on Oct. 11 and came around in a cellar.

"I got hit over the head and lost consciousness and came around in this cellar," he said. "They told me I was to be tried."

As he said those words, an unidentified man loitering in combat clothing behind Nuzhin, smashed a sledgehammer into the side of his head and neck.

Nuzhin collapsed onto the floor and the unidentified man delivered another blow to his head.

Reuters was unable to immediately verify the video which appeared on the Grey Zone Telegram channel, one of several that Russian media said was linked to the Wagner group. The video was posted under the title "The hammer of revenge".

Asked to comment on the execution video, Prigozhin said in remarks released by his spokeswoman that the video should be called "A dog receives a dog's death".

"Nuzhin betrayed his people, betrayed his comrades, betrayed consciously," said Prigozhin, who has been sanctioned by the United States and European Union for his role in Wagner. "Nuzhin was a traitor."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is visiting the conquered russian city of Kherson. Kherson is the capital of russian Kherson Oblast. russian forces have retreated from it without a fight. Ukrainian national anthem is playing.

Kherson- captured russian ammo depot

Kherson - captured T-62. Lack of additional armor suggests this is an un-upgraded model, straight from 1960's

I think the biggest issues is Europe has been at peace for so long nobody, not even the Russians, fully comprehended the enormity of what was about to happen. Kyiv isn't some backwater European city. Its a European capital of 3 MILLION people. It has a larger population then Rome, and is the 7th largest city in Europe. For me as a history buff, the image of a city this size setting off air raid sirens as the population fled into the subways was shocking. I think for everyone else in Europe it probably evoked some very traumatic living memories.

Putin has been pushing the limits for years now, and he finally went too far. Its going to cost Russia dearly. We are watching the current global order shift under our feet in real time. If Ukraine wins this war, they will be without question, the greatest military power on the Eurasian Continent bar China. That is a catastrophic power realignment that is going to have knock on effect for generations. Right now the Western powers are sending weapons and ammo to Ukraine, but Ukraine already has a native military industrial complex that is largely undamaged. Where will that be in 10 years?

For that matter? Where will Ukraine's nuclear industry be? With the Budapest memorandum abrogated, Ukraine is fully within its rights to develop nuclear weapons, and 100% they will after this war is over. They cannot allow for Russia to hold the nuclear blackmail over them again. What will this mean for Europe and Asia that the largest country in Europe possesses also its largest and most competent army AND nuclear weapons?

There are going to be second order effects to this war I don't think anyone is fully aware of. Fukuyama is a faggot. History is not over. At all.
Adding on to this - a Russian collapse at home would be one of the greatest disasters in the history of nuclear non-proliferation. Imagine every butthurt warlord in the middle east getting a nuke at a time when the region is on the brink of famine. Whatever happens, it's in the interest of everyone to ensure that Russia, as a state, continues to exist because the alternative is going to get grim really fucking quickly.

Oh, come on,
It will be *fun*.

Unfortunately that may not be anyone's choice to make. Not even the Russians themselves. I think at this point everyone, including the Ukrainians and Russians know the war needs to be stopped somehow. The problem is both sides like are like the warring countries in 1916. They know if this think keeps going its going to be catastrophic. But they also don't know how to stop it either. There isn't even a framework for trying to agree to talks, let alone actually holding talks that lead to a settlement. Everyone's just along for the ride until something materially changes.

Which is why I said Russia needs to win a battle soon. So long as Ukraine keeps winning battles and retaking territory there is no incentive on their end to stop fighting. And who can blame them? The past decade of Russo-Ukrainian relations has been a litany of failed negotiations and broken agreements. Why stop now, when they are poised to take by Force everything they could not get by diplomacy? For the Russians they can't stop fighting either because if they did they would lose everything they've been working for for the last 20 years or more.
