All of these glorified NEET-celebs of days gone by should have done 4 things:
- saved money
- got education
- got part-time job, just to have something to show a future employer once ecelebism dies
- maintained health(the most important prerequisite for anything "life")
I don't feel sorry for any of them at this point, way too many of them want to rely on Youtube/Twitch/Patreon/Onlyfans and whatever else and expect it to last in the long term despite that engagement, donations, and views can peak and decline at any time. I won't even bother with those who are too lazy to create constant content these days while wanting their pathetic audience to pay their lifestyle (even then many won't change lifestyle if the money starts to go down).

Others like Boogie and TheAmazingAtheist won't bother getting jobs and many of these creators should have made plans or branched out when all these sites start cracking down on multiple forms of content and demonitizing/banning/deleting accounts at will with no explanation.

Considering his videos and the frequency at which he uploads them, to me looks like that Greg doesn't know what a youtuber job is.
He looks like the kind of guy that thinks that being a youtuber means making a video "when you feel like doing it". Well, guess what Greg? It doesn't work like that.
Making a living off youtube means doing it as a full-time job, and like every job on this godforsaken planet, it means you have to do stuff even when you don't feel like doing it; because, you know, it's a job, not a hobby.
I've heard some youtubers explaining their jobs: they have a very strict routine. They need to look for material for the next video, properly document about it, write down a script, film the video, find relevant photos/videos to add, properly edit it, etc. That's something that takes your whole day. There are youtubers out there that upload twice a week just to stay relevant, and they barely make enough money to make it to the end of the month. Some youtubers work so much to grow and keep their audience, that they start to have health problems (the first that comes up in my mind is Arun from MrWhosetheboss, who in a video some months ago stated that he needed to tone down the work on the videos because it was starting to badly effect his health).
Our beloved Greg, on the other hand, spouts out a low-effort video every two months, and expects praise for it.

I might understand that making videos for him is a "passion" (and I'm being very optimistic on this one by not calling it a "grift"), but passion without dedication brings you nowhere. For comparison, imagine a dude that wants to be a professional bodybuilder, but works out and eats healthy only when he feels like doing it: this is Greg.

Greg always looked like a spoiled, low-IQ manchild, and this depressive rant of his just confirms that. He just wants money handed to him for merely existing. There are plenty of jobs out there for people who have no market-worthy skills, and even if they're menial jobs it's still a thousand times better than being homeless. But I guess that a "normal" job is out of question for Greg. Perhaps it's true: the long-term morbid adoration from June has gone to his head, and he's started to think that he's really special and above others. What a hard way to find out the truth.
I wonder how much the success of YouTubers like wendigoon getting millions of views with similar content.

The virgin atheist AS vs the chad christian wendigoon.

Another porn-addicted loser who got a relationship far beyond anything he deserved let it go to his head and threw it away is now hitting rock bottom because he was wrong about being able to replace her?

Oh wow man, I haven't seen that before IRL or online eight hundred times. Men are normally so rational and benevolent when it comes to their sexual desires.

I can't imagine what it's like when your only interaction with people is thru a computer screen.
If I may?

It’s not the best. Most people aren’t mentally built for it. And even those that are have hobbies and interests to keep them distracted all day. Most of the people that are not seeing peoplr irl are doing something that means they can’t go outside often or are in a position where due to medical reasons they can’’t go out. And even the people that have so shit health they literally can’t be around people can find ways to make money, live very comfortably and interact enough to remain healthy mentally in today’s world.

Greg just needs a job.

The easiest shit on the planet would be to disconnect his Armored Skeptic stuff and start fresh and consistant.

t means you have to do stuff even when you don't feel like doing it;
That’s the only part of what you said that I disagree with. Because you can upload loads of videos and set when you want them to drop nowadays. So you just batch record when you want to work so you have a backlog for when you don’t.

It’s the simplest shit if you want to put in the least amount of effort. Greg can’t even be bothered to do that. Which tells me he has 0 passion for what he’s doing.

And funny thing is, Greg has marketable skills. He just does not seem to want to use them.

I haven't heard about this douchebag in ages. Incidentally I'm listening to Logicked's latest video, the based guy he ripped off who is still going strong.

Then, iirc, some months later, that same woman said that she had breast cancer or some type of life changing illness, and he very quickly dumped or blocked her.
My father worked his ass off taking care of my dying mother in her final years, taking her to the hospital almost everyday, so I really don't like the dope manosphere trope of "just dump her if she sick, bro". You don't need to be a simp, but have some honor.
That's why I really don't fell bad for Greg. This guy is a total asshole. I heard that she didn't even had a fully confirmed cancer case, it was just a cancer scare. Greg comes off to me as someone that is completely unreliable and untrustworthy. A guy that will abandon anyone who becomes to much of a "chore" to him. He made a favor to June by breaking up to her. Imagine having this as the father of your children.

I don't know how youtube creators don't have horrendous existential dread knowing their career is going to last a decade at best. Like what, you think you're going to be doing this 20, 30 ,40 years from now? You're gonna be sat there as a wrinkly old man still doing this shit?

I haven't so much as thought about this guy for years, and really I can't say I knew him as anything but this peripheral entity that existed, but the whole situation has been hilarious in a way I just can't fully comprehend. It's such a perfect little nugget of schadenfreude.

I've always wondered how people like Doug and James manage. Both of their big successes are further and further into the past, with their hair taking the biggest hit. We have just about hit the point where AVGN's video on the Power Glove is closer to the release of 1990's Super Mario Bros. 3 than the present day.

I mean you can be. It just requires you to know when to switch platforms or be smart with money

Well, James seems to have switched his content up quite a bit - focusing on more serious stuff with the odd AVGN episode thrown in (which still rake up >1 million views). He also seems to have actual knowledge on video editing + shot composition so even if his channel gets nuked, he could still find a job as a video editor or something.

Doug on the other hand is well on his way towards becoming a movie reviewer version of DSP.
