The Never Trumpers aren't exactly bright, pushing this early just means burning money and energy they could use later. But I have feeling Pissdad Wilson and Co are often premature about a lot of things. They are already start push polls. As Baris has said over and over LV polls are trash.
The Cyber Ninja audit, IIRC, showed that there were potentially enough illegal votes to exceed the margin of victory. However, you need to take said ballots to a courthouse. They did say that the recount lined up, which means that at the very least numbers weren’t made up.
And the grifters and establishment on the right hated him. Now they're all on the same side, which means they either think they can beat Ron or that they know Ron will knuckle under to the party establishment. Nothing against Ron, but it's not the same situation.Yeah, and which people do you think wanted Trump to run in 2016? Oh right, the far Left did because they were sure they would crush them.
The big difference is he will take it up the ass instead of fighting back. Of course Desantis will be the new gigahitler, but there will be no rehabilitation of orange mam like with Bush because he is not one of them. The only reason I see everyone and their mother pushing Desantis is because he is considered one of them. He is the roundabout way of going back to the status quo.It won't last. If they get DeSantis over the hump, they will immediately turn on him and say he's a 10x bigger fascist than Trump ever dreamed of being. They'll call him a book burner and accuse him of trying to imprison gays. They convinced people that Romney wanted to reinstate slavery so expect them to unload with both barrels no matter who makes it through the primary.
And if this is legit and not cooked polls, well, something pretty fucking impressive needs to happen in the next 2 years or the populist movement is dead. Unlike others I'm sure the democrats will be fine with fucking over the trannies for a few years to give Desantis some wins as long as the uniparty recovers stability.
If Trump and his movement can be surpassed by DeSantis thanks to nothing but a red ripple and a few days of negative coverage by the New York Post and Fox... the movement is already dead. There's also a full year remaining before the primary begins in earnest, and it's one poll (YouGov poll is too shitty to even bother including) so I wouldn't read much into it. If the DeSantis 2024 meme is still around by the end of the year then it might be time to worry. And if this is legit and not cooked polls, well, something pretty fucking impressive needs to happen in the next 2 years or the populist movement is dead. There are powerful entities who have interests in DeSantis running in 2024, I won't be surprised if the media continues to barrage people with the idea of him running until they are convinced it would be a great idea for him to actually campaign. If the DeSantis 2024 meme is still around by the end of the year then it might be time to worry.
Suddenly I'm supposed to believe in (twitter) polls again lmfao
Okay, how is DeSantis "surpassing" Trump and MAGA? Where is this even coming from?If Trump and his movement can be surpassed by DeSantis thanks to nothing but a red ripple and a few days of negative coverage by the New York Post and Fox... the movement is already dead. E: Speaking of DeSantis - Sen. Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming literally just told this to a reporter after being asked if she would endorse Trump. "I don't think that's the right question. I think the question is who is the current leader of the Republican Party. Oh, I know who it is: Ron DeSantis"
I meant that as in, "if DeSantis consistently overtakes Trump in primary polls that aren't garbage". We only have two polls right now, one of them has a sample size below 400 and the other is a likely voter poll.Okay, how is DeSantis "surpassing" Trump and MAGA? Where is this even coming from?
It's not complicated: they hate Trump with a passion that burns hotter than a thousand suns, and they want the right spending the next two years on a ridiculous turf war as opposed to working on ways to de-fortify the elections in various states. The fact is, as it stands, neither man has a path to the presidency when half a dozen states will go into overtime and count ballots until they manifest enough D votes from the aether. You know, I liked DeSantis until the obvious media shilling for him. Now I'm suspicious.
If Trump isn't vindictive enough to throw DeSantis's general election, his voters are. It's not complicated: they hate Trump with a passion that burns hotter than a thousand suns, and they want the right spending the next two years on a ridiculous turf war as opposed to working on ways to de-fortify the elections in various states. Besides, "rivalries" in politics are barely more real than rivalries in pro wrestling, and for the same reasons. Everyone who remembers the 2016 election recalls the wild shifts in attitude based on political expedience, and accepted it as part of the game. Yeah, if Trump and DeSantis both go for the nomination, they'll be archenemies right up until one wins, at which point they'll be best buddies. This is how it always goes. The important issue on the right is to ensure that the nominee has a path to victory in the general.
For some reason people can't get it thru their heads that a large portion of his base are Trump supporters who vote republican. If he had commandeered the democrats or libertarians they'd vote for those parties instead. The GOP thinks if they do enough empty MAGA-lite talk they will just fall into line.If Trump isn't vindictive enough to throw DeSantis's general election, his voters are.
Unless the GOP gets serious about de-fortifying places like Pennsylvania, there won't be a general election in any meaningful sense. But if we must resolve Trump v DeSantis, then the fact that the GOP apparently isn't viable at the national level without Trump's particular base should answer the question. If Trump isn't vindictive enough to throw DeSantis's general election, his voters are.
