When I think of “old AH” I actually think of that video. I don’t think it’s their best by a long shot, those were obviously your Worms and GTA IV and London 2012 videos, but I think it’s very representative of what made them so good (interesting life anecdotes, funny interactions) despite being so bad at video games. And as time went on they actually did get better at 7DtD. Not much, but any improvement was noticeable for AH.
That was honestly the biggest loss. Once they were around for too long it all just became self referential and not nearly as fresh. Even in like 2017/2018, which I maintain were the last perfectly watchable (if middling) years of AH, the life stories had petered out and it was just “reference”. I bet that if they were all still likable and no one fucked any teenagers I’d still have stopped watching.
Now them crashing and burning is a lot funnier, because I don’t think we missed too much regardless.

For me if was when they all started watching Always Sunny and every episode and every joke became either an ISASIP reference or they tried to imitate their style of humour.

In my opinion the introduction of Off Topic removed those types of stories from Lets Plays and turned them into "just gaming"

Yeah, too much of a good thing. If Offtopic wasn't produced we'd have episodes of Sunday Drivers every now and then.

Over the past 2 months I have read pretty much this entire thread. My main interests are in AH and RT, so I'd skip over everything else. It was great, but one of my favorite parts was when posters would do a synopsis of the RT Podcast and Off Topic. So here's my synopsis of the newest RT Podcast Episode 725
This episode takes place in a different than usual set, and features Blain, Kayla, Blizz, and Drew as the cast.
This is a longer episode at 1 hour 36 minutes.
Kayla is dressed wearing clothes she thinks Gus might wear on a podcast
The first ~10 minutes are boring
Blain was the first to fly in a plane piloted by Gus. He bragged about it to Chris Demaris, Chris was sad.
Some talk about the Austin, TX bar scene
Kayla thinks Blain is a time traveler from the 80s
Blizz went to dinner with an unnamed RT employed peer and Blizz mentioned to them that he used to play the tuba. The unnamed peer responds with "So that's why you're so good at blowjobs"
There's some conversation about how tuba playing skills is more useful for rimming or blowing into a foreskin.
Blizz talks about his RT oreintation period and they all complain about how it takes a long time (weeks)
Kayla says this episode is prerecorded on the 11th
Kayla starts shilling a new show "trucked up" and Drew interrupts to try and correct some dates. Kayla calls him out and everyone shits on drew at once for interrupting a black kween
They start talking about new smartwatches and Drew asks them to explain to him what a smartwatch is for (they dont)
Kayla goes through every iteration of the microsoft zune she owns and explains the features of each one
Blizz: "Were you stealing music? You wouldn't steal a car!" Kayla: "Yes I would"
They talk about the first songs they ever bought and pirated
They talk about some commericials that got spammed on the television when they were kids
betterhelp sanebox and squarespace ad
They all list off the first disney movies they saw as kids and Blizz says aladdin was part of his bisexual awakening
Drew tries to play off this and score lgbt ally points by saying that Robinhood from the animated robinhood movie
was "hot as fuck". He is booed by all the others. Drew tries to name some positive attributes of robinhood and they all still boo him
Blain says Nala from the lion king has "fuck me eyes." He says he was crucified for this take, but blizz and drew agree with him
Everyone jizzes their pants over the lion king movie in general
Drew says he seriously wants to buy the theatre where he saw many of his favorite childhood movies at.
Blizz, Blain, and Kayla all talk about their notable college experiences. Public urination, people falling off roofs etc.
Drew tells a story about how he was nervous that he had to convert 30,000 euros in Berlin as part of his old job
Blain tells a story about how he walked past a lady in NYC while she was shitting her pants, Blizz has a humorus reaction
A bunch of gross stories about how they all have or almost have piss/shit themselves
Blizz tells a story about how he used to be Christian and when he was at a college party he felt a need to go to Church at 3am because he felt guilty that he was having too much fun
They all say they have "Christian guilt"
Blizz asks for a banana and deep throats it on camera
Kayla on male therapists: "I just could never pay a man and believe he's listening to me"
This next part is very cringe. It made me wonder if Kayla is drunk on this episode. Timestamp 56:40
Kayla tells a story about Fiona's going away party (dykes only) where a drunk friend of a friend named Coco shows up and "ruins" a "tender moment" at the party by telling everyone about how she's in love with her male therapist.
Drew called out Kayla for name dropping Coco, Kayla dramatically says it's fine because coco will never hear this. (lol she's right this video only has 9.6k views after 24+hours)
Kayla then digs really deep into coco's personal life for seemingly no reason at all other than to spite her for interrupting Fiona's dyke party with her heterosexuality.
Kayla talks about how Coco is 24 and now married to a dentist 12 years older than her (this is bad to kayla), and then goes on a rant about how said dentist is christian and stopped doing any oral surgeries because of his religious beliefs.
Kayla critiques every aspect of this random girl and her husband's personal life for about 3 minutes in total
The other cast members look on concerned
Drew drags his hand over his face. Blain is pressing 2 fingers into his temple and leaning over.
Blain gets on his phone for a bit during this (probably to send a text to kayla or a producer to tell her to shut the fuck up because she's putting her hate for heterosexuals out on display and RT has had enough controversies for 2022.)
Blizz stops this trainwreck by saying that "If you're gonna sin, don't do anything boring; go fuck a dude"
They talk about tattoos they almost got or might get eventually
Blizz says he's trying to get on wikifeet
Everyone is blown away by how much the faggots on tumblr love Blain
Everyone encourages Blain to start an onlyfans, he says he has thought about it. but is hesistant to because he wants to make it in hollywood and work on disney films
Kayla: "Blain, the trajectory that our society is taking is that (onlyfans) is your platform to jump into disney"
Some shilling for onlyfans creators in general. A lot of tumblr reminiscing.
Blizz says he posted a pic on twitter that had his feet in it and then someone DM'd him asking him to "Use me as a toilet and step on me in the process" for $100. Blizz was insulted by the offer.

Overall, it honestly wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be initially. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it. They actually talked over one another less than the normal RT podcast cast would.
I watched it over 2 days. Kayla was annoying sometimes but less annoying and more collected and competent than Barbara usually is. Everyone had their moments, Drew less than the rest. I've seen
Blizz on a couple previous RT pods and this was his best one that I've seen. He also probably had the most funny moments. I still would not listen to this specific cast regularly.

It's a culmination of all the tism between the company and the stans. Cause Internet Famous implies there's still relevancy to the company. There isn't, it's a dead company that hasn't realized they died in 2020, and like Archie Bathersbee, God rest his soul, the company is being kept alive on life support more costly then it's worth to do so for reasons I don't understand. The argument of supporting PoCs doesn't make sense to me ether, because the PoCs are putting up warning signs and leaving in droves for even more disasterous projects (coughG4TVcough) and the ones that are saying are putting arrows around the warning signs while their support companies circle it with vomit yellow neon spray paint.
