Besides that, he *could* do it, but there are few and far between cases that are worth it enough to do it. Okay sooo timingwise here’s what I think is up with Nick/has been going on:

He got a ton of attention during Rittenhouse and cruised along doing his show covering trials like Edgecomb and Potter and stuff. Time consuming but not all encompassing like Rittenhouse. Then in April Depp starts up and it’s a loooot. 7 weeks of actual trial (6 +1) as well as time before and directly after.

I think his wife threatened to leave him. (Side note: I wonder if this is why they no longer have a nanny?) He was doing a ton of show stuff and not really spending much time with her. After the Depp trial he was a moody bitch for a while and kept cryptically saying bad things were happening but he didn’t want to talk about it.

Then he goes on a few trips with family, fine, he mentioned them. Then suddenly he’s going out of the country with only his wife (and was a weirdo about the location). He suddenly started fetishistically mentioning his wife and how hot she was/how much he loves her which cool, glad you love your wife, dude. But like…stop talking about it?

My guess is his wife got insecure and made an ultimatum of he puts her/their relationship first and makes them more of a focal point, she was gonna walk. Like, he’s always been a degenerate but now it feels like he’s using his audience to get his wife off by mentioning her to us. Rekieta's biggest increase in numbers came not from the Maddox or Mignogna cases, but rather from things like the Rittenhouse and Heard cases. Cases which had much broader mainstream appeal. It's not difficult to see why he was successful there, ether. The MSM's coverage of those cases was absolutely despicable. Thinly veiled SJW propaganda in which Rittenhouse was literally Hitler, and Heard was a stunning and brave woman. His path to success laid with doing what Law & Crime and Court TV does, but sans the SJW crap that a lot of people are sick and tired of (and considerably more liquor).

Are there enough good trials to do that full time? Perhaps not. But I think the issue he's facing is you don't want to fill the gaps with awkward discussion of sexy time with Lady Rackets. Reading this thread for the past year or so, it strikes me that's the area a lot of people (even many of his ardent supporters) think he needs to work on. A lot.
