Context for the unaware: There was a stream that she and a few others did wherein they played Splatoon and made it such that the opponents' ink is chroma keyed to show an AV (mosaic-ed, obviously) Basically it was a "contest" to see if you can shoot fast enough so that there is as minimal AV on-screen as possible. Youtube and Nintendo clearly did not take this lightly since this obviously goes against their guidelines.

She and the others involved got a lot of hate for it.

To be clear, what they did was VERY dumb. The thing is, while most rational people would think "Hey, it was a small group of people doing something dumb and the fault lies with them" a lot of people took it as action dragging the "VTuber" community down as a whole (I think a fair bit of this has to do with how Japan has a very "hammer the nail that sticks out mentality" to be honest)

As stupid as it was, it was funny as hell and probably helped her be a better player. It's a shame she did it, but shit it was funny. I saw a clip and you could hear her panic as she was playing! :lit:

Because a lot of the posters in this thread are vtuber fans but "not like the others."

I do feel bad for some of the girls sometimes when they are clearly mentally unwell.

But in this instance she was incredibly stupid, anyone with half a brain cell could see from a mile away Nintendo would be livid at shit like this if they found out. I do not feel bad for her.

Literal definition of play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Not sure if I'm retarded for believing anything to come out of FFXIV players but I had assumed this was a case of their dumb ratings board, where you game could have your games rating changed due to mods if they are explicit or some shit.

I have no idea how true that is so tell me if it's wrong.

I feel like this goes beyond "Play stupid games..." territory, straight into "Fuck around, find out", personally. Nintendo's EXTREMELY DMCA-happy with content they feel is not compliant with their brand image, so I'm honestly surprised they didn't get a letter from Big N's legal department warning them that their plan was fucking retarded and would end in them being shut down - assuming of course that they didn't get such a letter and say "Fuck it, we'll do it anyway," of course.

FFXIV's issue is mostly that the development team are aware what people 'use' Lalafells for and have to reject the possibility of allowing for teen/minor characters due to the ERP aspect having major legal ramifications if they did so.

Secondarily, when you use GPOSE in the game (the in-built camera with photographical customisation options), the game adds the Square Enix and accompanying trademarks to the foot of the image. If someone is sharing screenshots of their naked catgirl with Square Enix's copyright attached to it, there is a belief that people may get the wrong idea of what the game is or offers by design, and if a ratings board saw this it could lead to misunderstandings.

In regards to Nintendo and Splatoon 3, it's mostly just Copyright Law. Japanese companies and creators can only stream games they are given 'permission' for, and that usually involves contracts or agreements that likely stipulate that you can't manipulate the game in any way - even if that doesn't involve altering the game code. Nintendo don't want their IP to be associated with JAV, so they'll fine Japanese creators on the basis of copyright infringement.

Copyright infringement nuked Hololive 2 years ago when Capcom found out someone was streaming a game without permission and her channel was struck. This resulted in a mass privating of streams relating to games they didn't ask permission for, and some members lost as much as 90% of their content. They still struggle to get game perms through the door to this day.

so during our vacation, we got Enna Alouette being a "racist" on stream, Luca Kaneshiro talking shit about viewers on twitter with a burrner account, Vox Akuma rage quitting smash and deleting his stream and a inde v-tuber called GrimmiVT doing voice acting for NSFW porn videos in the past.

its never a dull moment in this community.

I figure anyone with any amount of common sense would know that putting hardcore pornography on websites that generally aren't catered towards it would know exactly what would happen if you streamed it. She doesn't deserve hate but I don't feel sympathy for her either, the outcome of it was pretty obvious.

Although I guess if you wanna do something that's gonna get you banned at least be creative with it I suppose?

Imagine having a decent model (the one at the top), doing good numbers as a streamer (in the hundreds), and scoring some collabs with Nijisanji talent....and then she turns into another vshojo coomertuber look.

I fucking hate this shit, especially when I have watched her in the past. As far as I remember, no she didn't cater to the UOHH crowd, it's not that.

This is what happens when people like Ironmouse constantly change their models to stuff that looks way worse....everyone else has to jump on the band wagon.

It feels to me like she has done this partially because she is not getting clipped much, yet the fact is barely anyone does for small indies unless they get a fan clip channel that gains traction like what happened with fallenshadow's clip channel.

Most clippers only do the same few vtubers, or stick to the same few groups that are already clipped over and over again.
