It's extremely complicated, especially when it comes to different ethnic and cultural groups occupying the same land, particularly when they are quite a significant population (as is the actual case in Ukraine). Almost every world power in history ceded/traded some land in the interest of peace and stability, because at the end of the day, being a leader requires pragmatism, something Zelensky lacks (or simply isn't allowed to have due to the obvious fact that he is not the shotcaller/or in control at all). And again, foreigners do not have that good of an accent, I knew people who moved to the U.S. as young children and they still have noticeable accents. It would be very strange for someone to move to the U.S. for a little bit, even 10 years, and have such a good concept of the language.
