Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

I have friends and relatives who refuse to get out of their comfort zone. I'll buy them dinner at a mom and pop Mexican restaurant that I think is fantastic, and does bend over backwards to make sure you're satisfied. Then they'll take me out to dinner and it's chipotle. The price is the same, but the food is mediocre. I would rather give my cash to someplace I can sit down and enjoy myself and company. I wish I knew why people have such a hard on for tacky places that try to look authentic
Chipotle is okay but they got nothing on these Mexican food stands I occasionally see.

Mexican food is like pizza. The faster and cheaper it is the better it is. The more Mexicans working at the grungy stand/truck with weird shit painted on it the better it is.

Yeah. That's the whole point of Pops. Quick collecabtibles for things that wouldn't normally get collectibles - - Until they cross the line and completely miss the fucking point. Sometimes, I swear it is done intentionally.
You know, for the people who KNOW that having a collectible of THIS character is in poor taste can have something to laugh about and for the people who, you know - COOL FUNKO POP. People tend to forget that Funko makes more than those shitty pops. They make full sized figurines, bobbleheads and other plastic shit to pollute the oceans. Their Vynl Brand is hilarious, people think it's a knock-off but don't actually pick up the box and see that's made by the same people and in my opinion, they're a lot cooler than regular funkos. But it's still the same consumer shit.

Irony is dead.

Fun Fact: If your corprate Overlords allow Funko Pops at your desk/cubicle, the fastest way to get that revoked is to bring in your Laura Palmer and Alex Delarge Pops. Nothing says TEAMWORK like a masked rapist and a raped, dead girl wrapped in plastic on your desk. I've managed to get away with having them both on my desk 3 times, written up twice for "indirect harassment" at my old job. Like. They're plastic figures Jenny. If I wasn't married, I'd probably ask you out since any biological woman that identifies Alex as a monster , not a hero - is a keeper.

God, they look so outrageously shit, especially the This Is Fine dog, what an abomination.
Dunno if this been posted here b4 but this fits!View attachment 3858021
I just finished the boys btw.
The whole point of the show was to, once again, prove that Seth Rogen should not be involved in a comic adaption ever again, as if Preacher did not make that clear enough already. I give the show that it had a phenomenal first season and was a huge step-up from the comics back then. I say this as a big Ennis fanboy. Second half of the third season is iredeemably shitty and the show, first and foremost the writing, showed its cracks at the end of s02. Sorry for the OT sperging.

I like to laugh at and deride the guys who are deep into the spiral but once they seem to have that moment of self realization I feel kinda bad for them. Hopefully this guy starts to get better and pull himself out of that cycle of addiction.

On the topic of Funko Pops, between the shutdowns it’s been a while since I hopped in this thread but Funko Man himself is offloading his 9000+ collection! Not $9000… 9000 Funko Pops. He cites Funko’s predatory business practices exploiting FOMO and creating artificial exclusivity making it no longer fun to buy them. So you know things are REALLY bad when even a king consoomer like him taps out.
This video is eye-opening. The sheer expanse he has to devote to his plastic, how much of his collection is apparently never even removed from the box it was shipped in and how much he plans to keep.

It goes to show that even people like that have a breaking point for FOMO.

Were legos always that expensive or is it just specific stuff?
They've always been more expensive than comparable toys, but in recent years Lego has been targeting the adult consoomer market with increasingly expensive display pieces. I believe that they've also been increasing the price per piece in general, but even if they haven't, the fact that they're putting out larger numbers of the upmarket sets every year forces collectors to spend more to keep up.

I think Chipotle is definitely one of the most overrated fast food places and I do not understand the fierce hype and loyalty I see from some of its lovers. Like you say it's okay but I can get better Mexican food for the same price or cheaper at a dozen other places, chains and dives both.

As a Californian there's also a huge consoomer culture for In-N-Out. Which again is just "okay" at best but it has an outrageous following in the state. There are so many better places to get a burger and their fries aren't even that good.

In-N-Out is ok compared to other restaurants, but it's top tier compared to other drive-though joints and their burgers make a good baseline. My main complaint is that they are usually packed and have outrageous lines for the drive though.

Also, I order my fries crispy, which makes them a lot better.

Get the Speed Champions if you really want lego shit because they do cars and they look good, however if you're into mechs get the parts from bricklink.

I honestly don't understand Lego that's intended to be put together once and for all, and never deconstructed to build something original. I suppose it's model-making for people who can't be trusted with glue.

I will say this though, the one nice thing about having hot pink or weird purple tools laying around is that no one else in the shop steals them. And if anyone does steal them it isn't hard to tell who has your tools. Not that these are suitable for anything other than hanging pictures and putting together flat pack furniture mind you.

Have any of you guys posted about Consoomers Posting Their L's Twitter account? This account causes so much ass rage with Redditors that they ended up creating their own account called Consoomers Posting Their W's. Imagine getting so ass mad over people laughing at you for being a mindless consoomer zombie that you had to make an account to cope post that spending all your money on cheap plastic Chinese made crap. At the same time these men also wonder why they can't get a woman. Jeez, maybe it is because you spend all your money unresponsibily on Funko Pops that will have no real value in 10 years time and continue to indulge your Peter Pan Syndrome instead of being an adult.
