Honestly, I thought the same things about Trump, couldn't believe he made it to every step he made, all the way up to him being in the white house. Guy was a cow celeb to normies as far back as the 80s/90s, and IRL shitposted in debates and did everything you're NOT supposed to do... and won.

Everyone who wasn't on the Trump train, and hell even some ON the Trump train, were like "He doesn't really expect to win, he's just doing this all for publicity and to fuck around."

A lot of people thought Trump was a plant to weaken the Republicans, and when he won the Primary, some thought he was a plant to create such a cartoonish strawman of an opponent that it would guarantee Hillary's win. That's how surprising Trump's win was to so many people.
