Some Fridge Horror kicked in. Do you remember people feeling Miserable over
Treasure Planet and
Atlantis: the Lost Empire also being flops? According to them, those films are artistic masterpieces, but Disney decided to just ignore them and therefore not make those types o films anymore. They seem to be returning to form with
Strange Planet, but Disney then decided to emphasise the BGLT+ angle. Given the increasing amount of people already boycotting Disney over its pro-BGLT+ content, I feel that film flopping is mainly due to th emphasis on quee romance.
The Fridge Horror is that Disney, instead of blaming the quee romance, would blame the flop on
Strange Planet following the lead of
Treasure Planet and
Atlantis: the Lost Empire the never making those types o films ever again. I feel that Disney should have, at least, pushed the adventurous exploration angle and keep the quee romance hidden until the film plays.
Then again, the same thing happened with
Princess and the Frog, though social justice was more muted a tha time, th emphasis being on hand-drawn animation in the film, instead...
