I have the same problem with Tomlinson that I have with the British sitcom Keeping Up Appearances. There are definitely lots of laughs to be had from Tomlinson's antics, but I find him as tooth-gratingly annoying as Hyacinth Bucket. And Dame Patricia Rutledge, who played Hyacinth, is by all accounts a splendid person and one of England's greatest opera dames of the late 20th century. Tomlinson is just an annoying and untalented asshole.

It really shouldn't be understated how dumb you have to be to get a 1.7 in high school. Almost any teacher will work with you to get at least a B even if you are the dumbest motherfucker on the planet as long as you show them you're making at least a small amount of effort to improve. It really just shows that he's socially retarded in addition to mentally retarded.

We traveled a lot when I was still going to school. From what I remember, over half of the rural locations didn't even have AP courses.

While most schools followed the bio - chem - physics rule I do distinctly remember one high school in the suburbs making physics entirely optional for 11th/12th year.
