Dutch farmer revolt 2022

well its almost harvesting time and they needed to stop protesting for a couple of weeks anyway...

That is probably one of the main reasons. The current drought probably sets the harvest time ahead of schedule so they might as well act like they show a sign of courtesy. We will have to wait and see. Funny though a few weeks back the few media that reported wrote stuff like "Farmer revolt! Civil war looming!" and now they put this in a small article. Maybe the Durch farmers should visit Cologne wehre the WEf has it's HQ and spray their shit there. would be the right recipient anyway
The Farmers need to be intelligent about the harvest and refuse to move it to market until their demands are met. Sure there is a problem regarding storage but collectively I'm sure they can figure such stuff out. All they seem to be doing is just driving their tractors around aimlessly, they really need to figure out how to grab the government by the throat and get it to feel fear otherwise they're just wasting their time. The Truckers in Canada were largely ignored until they figured out blocking the border crossings which instantly fucked up the economy, until the farmers leverage some sort of crisis they can control they're going to get nothing done.

Yeah but what are they going to do when the government confiscates it? It's not like they can fight back with guns and this isn't the 1930s USSR with no refrigeration.
Don't get me wrong, but the farmers don't have guns (Not America tier) and the government does.

If the situation there is similar to Germany, marketing the grain isn't really doing much, anyway. There were a few reports here from farmers that wheat in Germany, from places that are usually known for super fertile soil, is practically useless this year. Protein too low, can't be used for baking. Last year we got new fertilizer restrictions because, you guessed it, nitrate levels in groundwater, and certain areas could only fertilize like 20% below requirements. And I think I heard similar reports from other countries as well, so who knows how much of a point there is in harvesting shit anyway. European food production lives on borrowed time (and imports) and next year is gonna be fuckin' tough.

At least we can force the tyrants to be tyrants. Show the sheeple why it may be important to be able to defend yourselves.

Yeah but when you defend yourself with a gun, then you're a far-right Nazi domestic terrorist. If enough people defend themselves with guns, then it's a neo-Nazi insurrection against Our Democracy.

Weren't they blocking food processing plants? What's going on?

Protests started back up in germany.
Guess the farming season is over back to honking and tractoring. Well that and the so call fuel discount has ended today so Diesel and fuel have become more expensive again. German goverment officials have already warned that the Fall will become hot when radical left and right protesters will march.

Sooooooo... this became another nothingburger, eh?
Honestly, at this point I give up. Even in countries where the population are armed, the only places where there will ever be a large scale uprising against the government is in permanently unstable third world shitholes.

Until we lose a daily comfort we take for granted like electricity, nothing interesting will ever happen again.

Not exactly, since there are still daily protests afaik. Its just that these are being ignored and memoryholed by media and politicians.

Compilation of a bunch of them, speed up to show group sizes.

Also, i would expect the severity of social unrest to directly scale with the continuing destruction of standards of living across the west. (unemployment especially)
The problem is that the gap between "normal order of things" and "SHTF" in 3rd world shitholes is tiny compared to the west where the destruction of social stability/order takes a while.
In Africa you basically have different warlords and factions in a constant armistice during "peace time" so that can turn hot in a split second.
The west is full of normies that first need to be radicalized.
That is happening, but A) slowly (albeit faster than ever), and B) the newly angry normies dont quite know what to do since they cant just open fire on the other paramilitary org in town.
Revolutions in civilised societies sadly dont happen overnight. Then again, it would not be a civilized society if they did.

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late
With long arrears to make good,
When the English began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy-willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the English began to hate.

Their voices were even and low,
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show,
When the English began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd,
It was not taught by the State.
No man spoke it aloud,
When the English began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred,
It will not swiftly abate,
Through the chill years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the English began to hate.

I mean, its not just the Dutch unrest that media has stopped talking about completely. Its just shocking that a first world Euro country is where its happening this time. Say for example when was the last time you heard about Sri Lanka or Burma?

So according to GB news the dutch government is going to forcible 'buy' farmers land. That is, they're going to steal people's privately owned land.

Jesus fucking christ these "people" are monsters. And of course they expect to buy it quietly and with no fuzz and with how absolutely downthrodden your standard kraut is I can see it going without a hitch.

Dutch government to close 3,000 farms to comply with EU rules

The Dutch state has announced plans to seize up to 3,000 privately-owned farms and shut them down in order to comply with EU regulations on nitrogen emissions.

The Netherlands will take control of the private properties via compulsory sales, which will see owners receive a provisional figure of 120 percent of the farm’s value, although this figure has not yet been finalized.

Christianne van der Wal-Zeggelink, the country’s minister for nitrogen policy, told MPs on Friday the government would press on with the radical plan if it does not receive enough offers from proprietors to sell voluntarily.

“There is no better offer coming,” she told Dutch lawmakers, adding that the compulsory sales would be forced with “a heavy heart.”

The Dutch cabinet has set aside €24.3 billion in compensation for the Dutch farms, many of which are family-run and have been handed down for generations, surviving German occupation only to be seized by a Dutch state desperate to adhere to EU environmental standards.

The move comes following a long-standing dispute between the Dutch government, the European Commission, and Dutch agriculture leaders over how the country will comply with EU rules to halve its nitrogen emissions by 2030.

Dutch farmers commenced nationwide protests over the summer in response to the Dutch government’s demands, and there is little to suggest that the industry will accept the plan for compulsory sales without a fight.

Sander van Diepen, a spokesperson for the Dutch agricultural and horticultural association, LTO Nederland, said at the time: “These reductions are so severe that those rural communities will be totally devastated economically.”

Commenting recently on the compulsory sale policy, the farmers’ lobby group said trust in the government “has been very low for a long time” and accused ministers of drafting environmental “restrictions without perspective.”

The deadline for farmers to come forward and voluntarily offer to sell will come at the end of autumn, at which point the state will directly intervene and prioritize high-polluting businesses.
