And stunned social media disparagers weren’t at all shy about bashing the milking mom for her risqué display.

As others have stated, a normal nursing mother would sit somewhere comfortable and discreetly feed her child. Many stores and malls have rooms set aside for feeding, but a cafe is perfectly fine (as long as it's not part of a church or something like that). A button-up shirt and maternity bra seems to be fairly standard attire for most nursing mums, although more modest mothers may choose to feed their little one under a swaddle whilst undertaking an important maternal task as naturally as possible. Almost nobody bats an eyelid (at least where I live) because it's such a normal thing.
