She is smaller from the front than from the side, it’s been established and confirmed, and these long thin mirrors always distort especially in photos to make you look thinner.
She doesn’t want him to come to Canada she wants to trap him in Kuwait as long as possible so she can have him dependant on her, I really think she will sabotage the process until she gets bored of him like she did with Peetz and Bibi and finds someone to cheat with who will tolerate her enough that she won’t need Salah anymore and then she will abandon him in Kuwait.

If he comes to Canada, the gushy insistence that she LOVES the idea of a man looking after her falls flat. He'd be far more dependent on her here than in Kuwait.

I actually don’t think he will be dependent in Canada, the only thing he is dependent on her for is citizenship, once he gets that he doesn’t need her. This guy can drive, can make friends/contacts so even if he doesn’t have family in Canada (which I think he does) he will get social help in the Syrian community there and he makes Kuwaiti money which will help support him initially in Canada. She may legally be expected to support him financially for a few years but he definitely won’t need her once he gets ‘papers’. She knows it’s in her best interests to keep him in Kuwait by manipulating the process underhandedly.
Also it’s Chantal she wouldn’t even take Nader to an appointment because it wasn’t in her own interests, she’s not doing anything to help this guy get ahead on his own.

You're completely right... I forgot he doesn't appear to be the James/Nader useless type & with the proper documentation & the right skills, he'd be positioned to do well here. The Syrian expat community is strong here & there's a solid sense of community in terms of steering people towards jobs you hear about or can offer yourself to fellow Syrians.
It's the getting to that point - through HER that would be his biggest difficulty.
I suspect with our new, greatly increased immigration quotas, if he has marketable skills in demand here, he'd be better off applying as an economic immigrant & starting the process now, while in Kuwait. It probably would move a lot faster than waiting on her to get her sit together in order to sponsor him as a spouse.

The only thing about economic immigration as far as I remember from friends who were looking into it 10 years ago there is a points system and being married and having a more valuable degree like medicine or engineering will give you more points so although I think Salah is from a pretty good middle class Syrian family he probably doesn’t have enough to qualify him on paper, also his nationality may make it harder.
Also his personality is a bit childish, he likes cars, comedy and chocolate along with the gaming and showing off his non existent piano playing un ironically I think he has been coddled in his family, and this business and money is family business and money, this paying for immigration seems on brand for his type.

When she initially described these things as his interests, I wrote it off as typical Chantal shallowness, as her listing off things SHE might find to her liking & ASSuming her viewers would find these desirable attributes. I was mildly surprised when we did finally see him & lo & behold, these do seem to be his interests, unironically so.
We still don't know much more about him & we see very little new when he's streaming or in a video with her. He's clean, presentable & appears well mannered. I don't see any real passion in the man, not for anything & especially not Chantal. When using endearments, he comes across as if he's cold reading a script with no preparation or background info about his character or situation... it's all rote.
His place is small & keeping it clean & seeing to his personal errands & necessary shopping, etc. can't take much time. The only thing he seems enthused about is gaming & as a non-gamer, I have no idea if he's any good or considered to be a serious gamer in terms of time commitment.
I don't think he's any kind of a great intellect & Doughnutloaf probably has the right of it; his family is coddling him & possibly employing him. I haven't watched enough of him to glean anything about his work ethic, overall level of ambition or any of that.
If he is ambitious, at least to the point of wanting higher status & money he may feel Canada is a better bet than Kuwait. From the little I know about foreign workers in Kuwait, it probably is a better bet, especially now when we're screaming for labor - skilled, unskilled & everything in between. His spoken English is more than passable & he could do well here, depending on his skill set.

If anyone's interested, here's the first three installments of Omegon's 4-part Year in Review. He has a Part Four lined up, which will air tomorrow.
I'm not the world's biggest Omegon fan, but he did a pretty good job with these. If the past year has been a whirlwind to you, these do a pretty good job of recapping everything and putting things into context. Worth watching.

Re Salah - the dude is fucked. One Google of his name (and Nader’s and literally anyone who has ever been IRL in the foodieverse) will see him laughed out of the room. Remember, she's barely a blip in the social media world. When she lost her channel & started The Beezer Show, she only had a few thousand unique subs... which confirmed my suspicion a lot of her subs were simply people who'd long ago dropped her but never unsubbed.
Very, very few people in the Ottawa area have a clue who she is, other than the smelly beast they may encounter while out. Salah will certainly have the stigma associated with her if anyone bothers to do an online search of him, especially potential employers. If he's lucky, he can 'explain' that to those inclined to be sympathetic as a marriage of convenience to get to Canada. That might go over okay if he's being potentially hired by someone who's experienced the immigration system here.
But socially? Not sure how that might play out with them.

It's easy for her to use a headache excuse to not have to walk, stay in the sun, go anywhere when she doesn't feel like it or help with anything. And being Chins, it has to be dramatic and therefore unbelievable by calling it a migraine.
If he does make it over to Canada, he is going to feel like a burden to her even if she will eventually get money. I don't think she has any deep feeling for him and she will want to stop with the hijab and the straight edge life. She will try to hide it at first. Salad didn't even have a stable internet connection except on his phone before she got there, Chins had to buy a special router and their streams still look like shit. She bought him an air fryer upon arrival to make "fresh" food and a mattress beforehand because he slept on the floor (for cultural reasons, but I doubt the Sheiks do it). I suspect she or another loser sent him the tv that we saw his reflection in. All the gaming he does on his old "gaming channel" is on his phone. He lives in the worst housing available. He has fuck all.
He doesn't have a job. He doesn't have the hands or body of a day labourer.
His "job" was taking money and gifts from old ugly women and maybe men on dating apps who are trying to buy a long term brown prostitute. If he's smart he's still got a few paypigs from POF or something but he's not smart and Chantal told him she was rich so he probably quit. She would be okay with it because it would be proof other women wanted him and that she was his "first choice", it's a win-win.
