Nope, that's not how his brain works. The way it works:

• be genuinely bad at the game
• constantly swear, shit talk the game and devs, ban people from chat

Not exactly true. He has mentioned multiple times that he knows drama brings the viewers as does him getting upset and raging at the game (See Elden Ring). Whether he is capable doing it on purpose or not is anyone's guess.

I remember in the Snort Burnell txt commentary he seemed to think DSP was dying in Super Monkey Ball on purpose and doing some orchestrated faux-rage. Snort Burnell seems like he has good common sense and he's been observing the DSP streams closely for years (to do the edits), so maybe he's onto something. Personally I don't really know; DSP is such a muppet it's hard to tell.

Yeh, at the gym rn so I couldn't link. My point is everyone loves to point out Phil is an idiot who never learns from his mistakes, but he starts sucking dick on a boss a lil too hard and suddenly he's Machiavelli. I don't buy it

as for my opinion of the bosses, I've said before I think the ability to interact is the most important part of gameplay. if a boss is doing something I should have six different options I can respond with depending on my skill level. but for God of War and most games, if the boss is doing something I have 2 options, dodge or block. this mage boss continually flies up into the air, I tried hitting him with my axe when I saw this to knock him out of his attack, doesn't work. the player isn't playing WITH or interacting WITH the boss, they're playing AROUND the boss. they're taking turns. Boss does his attack string. ok my turn to do my attack string.

I do not like games designed like this, which is a shame because it's 90% of games these days.

I stopped paying attention to DSP for several months and decided to watch one of the newest Snort Burnell videos to get a look at what I've missed.

Imagine my face as I watch 40 year old Phillip Burnell review a Big Mac live on stream while begging people to donate $8+ so he can shake a Magic 8 Ball for them.

How far into a lifestyle of shame and humiliation can one man fall to avoid honest work? And how little self-awareness must he possess to never realize what he's doing? Such is life as DarksydePhil.

First time seeing this. I tip my hat off to you, Phil. You actually did produce something entertaining on your miserable excuse of a channel. On accident as it may be, but seeing DSP seething so hard that it whips all the way back into making him better at games, while going full edgy swears is hillarious. It's just dumb loud humour and for once in his life he is actually playing the game and just blazing through it. Yeah, it's a platformer for children, but if current DSP played it, it would take him 2 hours to accomplish what took old DSP less than 8 minutes.
