What are the ramifications of the US annexing Alberta?

Yeah the US annexing Alberta (and you might as well take Saskatchewan and maybe also Manitoba) would basically be the collapse of Canada. The federal government would not be able to use "equalization" payments to pay off Quebec, and Ontario/BC will not be content with pouring money into Quebec.

Also maple syrup comes from Quebec, bits of Ontario, and bits of the Atlantic provinces. Alberta is much more farming and cattle grazing.

The U.S buys Greenland, and annexes Alberta. Russia retakes Alaska and annexes Florida. Louisiana goes back to the french. That should mix things up a little.

The current American administration wouldn't like it because outside of Edmonton and Calgary having a retarded amount of liberals, it's a conservative province so it would benefit the Republicans more to annex us. That being said, we would be a financial boon to the USA with our oil, our farmland and our tourism (Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise, Vulcan whenever they do their Star Trek stuff, Drumheller, the Calgary Stampede). Downside is that you'll need to unfuck our medical system without rocking the boat too much.

If you were to take us, for a lol take Saskatchewan too. It's a fucking nightmare to drive through it, but it would be funny to see the Canadian economy try not to collapse with the sudden loss of its breadbasket. Also, they got oil sands up North too that hasn't really been tapped into.

Until they vote in communists to water it down since Alberta would be a purple state at best thanks to Calgary and Edmonton who'd happen to find tens of thousands of votes whenever they need to. And then it would be full of Californians and the occasional Portland/Seattle shitter just like Montana is.

It would be a terrible idea. Why on Earth would you want to turn dirty filthy worthless Canadians, into glorious Chad Americans? I don't even think they would survive the transition because they're not used to inhaling patriotism and exhaling freedom.
