This will work. It is the only way. The Elton John biopic "Rocket Man" does this very well. The compromise here, of course, is that one of them still is gay, they're just not gay together. And that's okay, because you're not a homophobe, right Cynthia? If you don't want Woggle to be gay, he doesn't have to be, but the only way to prove it is to reject the romantic advances of the person he is closest to, because that person is male.

I'm quite serious in saying it's the only way this will ever be put to rest. Because as it stands, the gay sex vibes here are palpable. And having them argue about anything is just going to make those vibes stronger.

I am not going to do that. I am not going to make any sort of compromises on this subject. Neither the Wogglebug nor the Frogman are gay. You don't tell me what is cannon for MY series. I tell you what is. So, if I say that neither of them are gay and they are straight best friends, then that is exactly what the case is. And also, I really do want to see the Frogman marry a female frog as much as I want to see the Wogglebug marry the Beetle Princess.

Looks like the wogglebug plushies might not be selling as well as expected. She just put up a community post asking about what prices people would be able to afford one

Nothing in your stories are canon. These are not your characters. And even if they were, readers are still allowed to draw their own conclusions from the work. Look up "death of the author." Once you release a piece of art in the world, you have zero control over how someone reads it.

So, in reality, readers DO get to tell you what is canon in your stories. That's how art works and always has.

The more you dig your heels in over this, and calling attention to it, the more people are going to see them as gay. The woman who wrote thr Outsiders has been fighting the same fight for decades, screaming about how her book is about straight friends. In reality, the world has agreed the Outsiders is one of the gayest books ever written. One day she will die, the book will live on, and readers will still think it is a gay book. You can't control that. Live with it.

I thought I mentioned before that I have started shipping to the UK/Europe as of now. I have one person there so far waiting on their delivery. I also have had someone from Australia and Norway place orders.
