Technically, this is true, but personally, I would be extremely irritated if my vet released information like this over the phone without proof of identity, to the point that I would likely seek care for my pets elsewhere if they did so. Obviously, the animal doesn't care about privacy or confidentiality, and that's not what I'm concerned about either, but never underestimate the lengths some people with nefarious intent will go to to find out specifics about another person.

I'm specifically envisioning an angry ex using a veterinarian to get information about their former partner. You cannot be too careful with stuff like this. For example, someone could call asking for the date of Frisky's next checkup, but what they're actually interested in is whether their ex still lives in the same area.

I probably sound paranoid to anyone who hasn't dealt with an unhinged person, but stuff like this really bothers me. It's amazing what people with ill intent can find out just by asking innocent questions to the right person. Be careful out there.

If anything should make you MATI, it's when cows are callous to the suffering they cause, particularly when the victims are animals and children. If you have animals, cuddle them and give them what Polissa won't give hers; a loving and safe home. Take the break if you need to but try not to let it infect your daily life.

If there is a cowtipper here, I advise you to be careful in getting involved. If you've been reading you know Polly will never feel shame or take responsibility, and getting yourself emotionally involved this way will be crushing. Especially when you know the Bank of Mom will probably end up bailing her out anyway as it always does, despite the conditional offer. Highly amusing as it is to see Polly get called out in public, look out for yourself.

Polly is an arrogant cunt who actually believes that strangers owe her happiness and security and stability, mainly in the form of cash. You're not going to change her. Gomez is likely a lost cause. As sad as it is to say, being in Pissa's care has likely left him sick for life regardless of whether he gets the treatment he needs right now. He's been living in a roach infested home for years, which cause respiratory issues, and hasn't had proper litter care all his life which led to these blockage issues and now that he's had one (that we KNOW of) he's now more susceptible to them for the rest of his life. It really is likely that euthanasia is the kindest thing for him.

Solidarity with you for caring about animals and feeling angry that Gomez has had to live in filth and neglect, but you can't save every abused animal in the world. And Polly will never secede her tools that aid her grift. Take care of yourselves and your own animals first.

I would assume even Pissa isn't enough of a retard to give out the name and number of a vet that was caring for Gomez and telling people to give them money for payment when the second someone who did try to help Gomez out called, the receptionist would simply respond "who?" If he wasn't actually there.

My guess is Pissa was upfront about a budget, OR she has a history with this vet and they won't treat her animals without payment upfront.

There are a few vets here that do set up payment plans if you come in and cost of care far exceeds what you planned. We have 3 low income clinics throughout city limits. They offer free spay and neuter as well as preventative maintenance care and low to no cost euthanasia as long as your pet stays a patient and you dont keep a menagerie.
They are ruthless here and will turn you into animal control if you seem sus to them. They don't hold back on shitty pet owners either.
They are also the kindest most compassionate people I've ever seen. They've bailed my pets out during tough times so we've stuck with them and paid full cost even when they didn't charge so they could split it as a tip.
Gomez would never see Pissa again. We need more of these especially in lower income areas .

Absolutely not. This is someone's private property (i.e. the animal) under discussion. Unless it's the person, or someone they've designated as an alternative contact then no, none of that information should be public. Think of the potential for abuse by abusive (ex)partners, family, friends, even random stalkers. I know you want to see Gomez helped. I desperately wish I could help him (and his fellow suffering creatures in Polissa's hoard) myself. But no, no *way*, that is private and confidential information belonging to the owner even if that person is scum. Even if the animal is seized that information is confidential to the agency acting in that case. Just as with children or valuable personal property the people who have care of it in the owner's behalf should be treating it as something to be protected, and that doesn't mean handing out information to any random person who calls*.

There are criminals in every area of life, and there are people who would steal people's pets to resell them -- or use them for bait for dog fighting. I know of a couple of cases where non-professional care givers were careless about what information they gave out, or less vigilant in monitoring the animal than they should have been and treasured companion animals vanished and were never found, or were eventually recovered so badly damaged that euthanisation was the kindest option. Let's just say the people who likely did the stealing weren't the type to give them loving homes and leave it at that, and there isn't much recourse because animals are just pieces of property under the law and not necessarily given any weight by judiciary proceedings. I don't want to make the tone of this thread even worse than it is already.

Pets and children. If you can’t afford them, you’re not fit to have them. There will always be emergencies. Stuff you can’t plan for. And if it’s impossible for you to save a nest egg to handle that, just do the right thing and only take care of yourself. People are not entitled to pets. They’re not toys. Hey y'all, this is an update on Gomez.

I spoke to his vet about 8 o' clock this morning. And they're gonna catherize [catheterize] him today. Uh, the antibiotics and fluid alone is not working. So this is where we're going now.

Now, I have told the vet I only have $300 for him. And it has been the vet's choice to keep Gomez [guess vet is mean too]. Now he knows I only have $300 and he is trying to work within that care. I don't know if he's providing services free of charge. I don't know.

*deep breath* All I know is Gomez is still there. It has been... Last night was his second knot [night]. Today is his third day there [thanks Polly I wouldn't have guessed].

*shallow gasp* The vet said that if we cannot get him to pass these bladder stones [so it's bladder stones now?], they will have to remove his penis. And they will have in order to let him pee, be able to pee. That's where we're at.
