DS1 at best broke even after double dipping and putting it out again. That's a clear admission it sold like shit. It's why Naughty Dog did their remake since TLOU2 lost money. They discounted that shit within the first year and bundled it with nonsense accessories.

Let's be fair, did Elden Ring even have an actual narrative? I know it supposedly did because GRRM used his chubby little fingers to write some shit but everything I've seen of it is just classic soulsborne fighting and light on the actual narrative story.

Giant spiders, alligators, starship troopers space marines and blade was in it. It was fun. Also the main chick got the shit kicked out of her every time she got in a fight.

It had heartfelt acting interspersed with some of the most random and batshit lines ive ever heard in an series. It was great. Lance redick was worth the price of admission.
