Male cats have Hank Hill level narrow urethras, especially at the base of the penis/start of the urethra. If the cat's dick is so fucked that it cannot help him urinate or pass stones, then they will do a penectomy and basically make a sort of amhole for the cat to piss through for the rest of his life.

Given that it removes an essential body part, it is an extreme last resort operation. A dick chop that is literally life saving care. If Gomez had been getting preventative care, it's unlikely that this would've happened. Or if it did, it would've been later in life. A friends cat had the same surgery and altogether with the hospital stay and other treatments it was damn near 5k. Pissy just doesn’t have that.

As far as quality of life, if uti’s and urine crystals are a persistent issue for Gomez he will actually be better off with the penis removed because any built up scar tissue in the urethra is gone. With my friends cat, it’s like the whole surgery never happened at all. Absolutely no difference.

I had a cat we found as a stray when I was a kid that we thought was a girl. Then we found blood everywhere. Turns out Tabby Cat aka TC was actually Transsexual Cat (this was long before the current year) who turns out had an urethral reroute. It’s actually pretty common for male cats with chronic kidney stones to have to have things rerouted so the stones can pass. Cat had no idea and as long as we fed him low ash food, TC was fine. He then lost his leg in a trap when he escaped one time and became Tripod Cat. TC was a great name choice it turns out.

One of the best cats I ever grew up with and he was about 23 when he died. He never gave a fuck and was the chillest buddy ever.

I know this polly creature will never do the right thing for poor Gomez but I wanted to share my experience with owning a cat who had no clue if he had a dick or not or cared one way or another.

The issue is the aftercare in a roach infested falling down shithole full of litterboxes that never get cleaned with a catmama who wouldn't demean herself by cleaning up or washing an incision site. And the fact that if she was the kind of person to do those things, Gomez wouldn't have been this bad off in the first place.

It sounds like another excuse for not surrendering the animals. This one is for tugging at the heart strings:

Even if the poor bastard managed to heal an incision by the power of the gods, a shorter urethra means higher risk of infection reoccurrence. Cone of shame is miserable for cats, and she isn't going to keep him clean and combed. Even if she puts him in isolation somewhere and keeps it sterile a couple weeks, he will inevitably get fucked up in that hell hole when he tries to live with millimeters between filth and bladder. It's so gross to imagine that little guy trying to survive this.

Even if the vet knows, animal abuse laws are shit in the country. You have to have an absurd number around here (i think it's like 16 here outside of farms and such) before anyone will even investigate, and even egregious cases have to be extreme to even earn inspection. It's pretty hopeless to even try to report, and has to be torture for vets. Even when they do have absurd numbers, they rarely get all the animals removed. They'll take a few and leave to get them to compliance.

A local lady had a ceiling high junk hoarding house with 20 cats that caught fire, nearly killed firefighters, and had animals burn. She's still faking a shelter in her new home with dozens of cats, and has a state licensed dog breeding business (which churns out genetic fuckup puppies according to reviews). Animal laws don't manage shit.

In the second screenshot, Pissa claims she hasn't "made it a career," but in the next sentence, she describes having to beg for money for months for the cats' care... when she did not have a job or other outside responsibilities. That's a career, honey, and bless your heart. Be thankful I'm from the South because I want to say a lot more than that.

It's just so clear that she's a narcissist. Multiple people online (and in person, I hope) have given her logical reasons to give up Gomez in order for him to have a better quality of life. Also, she wouldn't be scraping the bottom of the barrel to pay his vet bills. But nooo, her ego is more important than Gomez, her financial stability, Joh's health, or really anything outside of her, at this point.
