All they have to do is claim the process wasn't followed properly or fairly. That gets them the exact same result as fraud does. But fraud requires they show intent, malice, and possibly even organization. They literally can't do that. Unless there is suddenly a upturning of the system wholesale in the government everything might have to be done step by step. As the United States has gradually been lead astray, it will have to be put on the right path gradually. If a decisive political victory can't be won, a hundred smaller ones will work just as well.

Gradualism could be an answer to American woes, but at the same time it can't just be seen as a end all solution for issues as a whole. The Left is increasingly willing to resort to whatever to win, the Populist Right I think understands that but the problem is they lack enough political sticklers for protocols and "rules" that know how to get what they want via technicality and wording of laws.

I do agree an "assertive conservatism" is needed to emulate and counter the tactics the Left has deployed. As for college students and the youth there, there are still some there I imagine who value the old ways but the main area of support will most likely be found in people who didn't go to college which is ever growing more and more for various reasons:


The Right borrowing the behavior of the Left could lead to increasing polarization but there are little options remaining other then getting stomped on with dignity. All does not seem lost in my opinion as the monumental spirit of change still seems to linger in the air for now. Though that could just be because in little more then a decade the once stable pillars that held up my country appear to be falling away more and more, there are other things as well however. Historical signs of a nation in growing imminent turmoil appear more and more, a looming economic disaster, increasing distrust in politicians, a military rotting from the inside out and an expanding number of disaffected young men to top that list off. If all of that will manifest into a simple conservative victory in important elections or something more crazy who knows.

The future is uncertain and it can't be perfectly predicted, but at most it can be said we live in very interesting times.
