Don't beat yourself up too much over this, @TanglingGoose . I think a number of us have experienced this. I was grifted by an acquaintance who didn't like it when I figured out she was lying about stuff to me and immediately ghosted me. Polissa still hasn't taken down her twitter post begging for help for Gomez, even though the post directly below it is about Gomez being home. Just incredibly funny that she hasn't put the puzzle pieces together yet on why nobody believes her anymore.
It's impossible to keep friends in your life when they're that hot-tempered, entitled, and unable to tolerate any criticism or disagreement. Maintaining solid friendships require a lot of give-and-take, and these two—especially Polissa—are all about take-take-take.
That said, I suspect Josh would still be friends with MAGA bro if Polissa weren't such a smug fucking harpy. Every family deals with family gatherings which includes people with wildly disparate points of view or a lifestyle which may not be approved of by everybody. Smart families simply avoid contentious subjects & focus on the reason for the gathering & catching up with people they may not have seen for quite some time.
But that requires a degree of restraint, real manners & maturity. Polissa... never mind. Incapable.

Or to tell its owner it is not healthy. From everything we know, Gomez is not healthy and may be telling Pissa he's in pain. Polissa degrades her family members and friend's political beliefs a lot. Especially if they're not on the "same page" as her. She has constantly called right wing women in particular "gender traitors" more than a few times.
I guess it is a testament to how strong Robin's maternal love for her shitty daughter is and how much Polissa depends on Bank of Mom for them to have their symbiotic parasitic relationship. Because Polissa's mom is very Conservative. Like has Trump 2024 frames on her Boomerbook icons, posts Covid conspiracy vids, etc MAGA level type of right wing. Cats are territorial animals just like dogs are, and Polissa lives in a very tiny house. None of those animals are getting the personal space they require.
I'm glad Gomez was even able to pee. I just can't help but wonder if this happened because of his condition or because he had no access to clean litter (provided he's not one of the "litter averse" ones). The sad trombone Arms of an Angel video about how abusive and cruel it is making your kids eat their food. Polissa, at the tender age of 4 years old, was made to sit for hours [dramatic pause] instead of eating more spaghetti, after she scraped her plate in the trash without asking. And at the very young age of 4 years old, where memories are always vivid and this definitely happened, she developed an eating disorder over that single event, having consciously learned to listen to her body and eat for nutrition the previous three years of her life. But not no more! Polissa learned herseff a big lesson, for the first and clearly last time in her life.
Poor Polissa never had a chance, with a dad who did what most 90s parents did and joked that steak was snake, and from being a picky eater. Picky eaters are born, not made, because your body is saying you somethin’! Ever think of that? Doubtless that the absolute cornucopia of healthy foods Polissa’s nutritionally focused parents tried to force upon her person was rejected instinctively by her body because it could not handle what was in that food - it knew it did not come pre-cooked and frozen in a bowl.

I was curious & hunted down that story about the 2 old dears & their convictions, As I expected, it wasn't quite as Polissa portrayed. TThe article behind her didn't give much but the video sure did. They were convicted of trespass on public land & disorderly conduct.
Now I'm a big fan of TNR, (Trap, Neuter, Release) but you can't simply waltz into a property & start doing that. Private property, you need the owner's okay. Local public property, I'm going to assume you check with the local authority to get their okay & make sure what you're doing isn't working against something they're already doing.
Those women had been told over & over, in the space of a half hour or so, to leave & refused. They both got right snippy with the police & the older one threw her car keys at one officer. THAT is when the cuffs came out & arrests made.
While it wasn't directly stated in the police cam videos, it was pretty clear that for reasons not mentioned, this wasn't these ladies' first encounter with local law.

It is unlikely for a cat who has never made a habit of it before to do it out of the blue to the person they know best, but yes. Especially since Gomez has been catheterized for several days and is probably in a lot of discomfort or even pain and probably doesn't want to be pestered. Pissa makes it seem like he just walked up on her and took a squat though, but it's not like she wouldn't try to hide that it was her own fault for harassing him.
