World of Warcraft

What, you mean you don't want the story to turn in to everyone tonguing Thrall's asshole because he is the bestest and smartest and greatest person in the whole setting forever and ever?
Call me reatarded, but I could care what becomes of WOW , it's already beyound bury your dead phase. I just wonder, what the fuck the old boomer expects to find among the crowd or danger hairs and effective managers.

Metzen is the kind of guy who is all sizzle, but no steak.

He can come up with really fun set pieces, or a bad ass concept but actually writing/crafting it and fleshing it out? That's kinda where he struggles.

It's like a promo from the Ultimate Warrior. He says a lot of really cool and badass sounding stuff but 10 seconds after it ends you're like 'wait, what did he just say?'

I'll take this as an indictment of Danuser. Glad to see that other folks are seeing he's in way over his fucking head, lmao.

But yeah, Metzen isn't going to be a panacea. He's always been hanging around the offices and popping in to hang out (usually with whenever they need him to record something for Thrall or whomever) but now that he's back in an official capacity is...god, I'm just amused he's getting brought in to try and salvage shit.

It's too bad he's spent most of his time painting miniatures and wargaming cos I don't think there's any Dragonlance books he can plunder for ideas this time around.

So far I'm liking Dragonflights main storyline. The Blue Dragonflights sidestory isn't bad but the zone is a mess all thanks to the Cobalt Assembly (it should have been in it's own shard, something similar to Ashran, just way smaller), and I cannot stand the Tuskarr. Wraths zone is fun for a grind, but there's nothing else going on there. Bronze Dragonflight side story has potential.

The new Elemental armours for the four elemental sieges are a bitch to get as you can only seem to get four of the items needed to upgrade them a week. Weapons alone cost 14. I'll have full Conquest Gear before I get a full set of those. The Centaur zone has been good for the hunts, you don't even need to participate to get rewarded. Just way the Leftists like it. True Socialism!

PVP is still a mess. They need to just get rid of it as they'll never invest resources to fix it properly.

Crafting orders were dead on arrival. No one is ordering anything and your first raid will get you better gear than you craft. Hell, farming rares over by Wrath will get you better items. Great idea, poorly implemented.

That being said, there are tons of bosses of various types to kill out in the world. Which is great! Unless you're alliance as they seem to hate world events. I see more horde doing stuff in the open than Alliance.

Lots of nerfs in terms of grinding because Blizzard wants to prolong this expansion so you can't finish it in a month and complain that they couldn't put more content into the game. Dailies are gone it seems and now you get "dailies" that go for 3 days and weekly quests.

Still enjoying flying, though the game has shit camera for that (thanks rated pvpers!). Also, flying can bug the controls.

Creatures, even normals hit like a truck. Elites can kill you in four hits depending on the class. A lot of creatures don't telegraph their heavy hitting moves. Some bosses can be soloed by my hunter in ilvl 366 gear. I've died more this expansion than in Shadowlands. I heard that a DK soloed some mythic content already. So good on Blizzard not paying real beta testers to test their game and just gave it to people on the PTR and closed beta testers to "test" things out. Only 5% of those people would do the job they're asked to do. It's why you're supposed to do closed beta testing with paid employees.

Metzen is back? Oh goody more Green Jesus self-insert quests.

The man's a hack and WoW is better off without him.

Meh, it doesn't actually effect me, I moved to private servers after BoA soured me on retail.

Warmane is where its at.

One of the big reasons I won't come back is because Hunter is basically in the same state it was in during BFA. Marksman has been shit to play since Legion, and Survival should never have been made melee, and BM was only really fun to play at the end of Legion with that stupid but fun zoo build where you would have like 10 dire beasts out. I love mentioning my hatred for melee Surv and getting the response, "some people like it". Guess what, plenty of you retards obviously love dog shit anyways since you played all the way through Shadowlands. I wouldn't even be so mad if they would bother to just do like they did to Druids and give them 2 Surv specs, one that uses polearms and one that uses ranged weapons, but I guess that's too hard for the smooth brains in charge of Hunter class design.

Why do I have a bad feeling about that?
Because it's a desperate gasp of a dying company signaling that they do not have the capacity to make things that are good or fun again.

I'm sure Metzen is super excited to try and salvage the absolute wreckage of the WoW, other franchises, and the company as a whole and won't just be phoning it in complete with the knowledge that a take over is imminent (either from Microsoft or just when Activision loses patience).

Likeminded individuals with the same cuck mindset to try to nickel and dime as many people as possible.

Blizzard is too retarded to notice most people would play PTR just for the new content shit and not test, many games that have "public test labs" always end up with a good chunk of players not testing shit and just enjoying the new content, i know because i am one of such players too.

Chief, let me drink mah coffe first before you serve me some hot sarcasm, ten bucks says thrall is going to be on the next expansion.

I'm rating you optimistic only because do you really think Metzen can hold off that long to put Thrall in. You know he'll get shoe-horned in to this expansion because he totally subbed in as the black dragon aspect for a short while during Cata.

I used to beta test for the company back in the day. They used to pay nearly double minimum wage so you could make a good living off of it. No way they could keep up with that with their Activision overlords.

Oh great, we're going to find out that at it's core WoW was always a love story between Sylvannas and Thrall, and that they have to save Sylvannas from The Maw because she's the only one that can stop Xel'naga or some shit.

Didn't he also start his own game studio or something? Did that fail already?

Nah, Metzen basically stepped away from work so he could spend more time with his daughters and not miss their formative years.

He's basically been chilling. He mucked up a 5E campaign setting:

And to back up my point from earlier, about how it's gonna be a rough go since he has no books to plunder:

Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent is a 5E campaign setting by Chris Metzen and Warchief Gaming. The first release in this universe, Worldbook: Lawbrand, is based on the roleplaying campaign that Chris ran with his childhood friends in the eighties and nineties, before heading to Blizzard Entertainment to work on worlds such as Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and Overwatch.

I'm curious about the setting. Also curious if this is the same setting he plucked Soldier 76 from for Overwatch.

Nigga what? They gave hunters a melee spec(so many huntard jokes, like tears in the rain)? I haven't played since Cata, I remember back when survival was just explosive shot spam that was weaker than marksman. So how do melee hunters work?

Poorly. Blizzard really thought everybody wanted Raptor Strike to be the main thing they wanted to cast, and it only went downhill from there. As I understand it their current rotation is a mess where you're supposed to step back out of melee range every now and then to cast abilities with minimum range, then go back in.

Imagine the bastard child of an arms warrior and an unholy dk.
So are they 2-handed focused or duel wield focused? I like the concept of a polearm hunter but it still feels so foreign from what I remember.

So the removal of poisons on entering dungeon , leaving dungeon, entering bg, leaving bg, simply breathing is getting annoying when you have 4 poisons to put on.
