aaaah we got peacock!

Peacock has a boner for Brittany venti *sigh*

That said, his reading of the law tends to be right, even if juries disagree with him.
This looked to me like it was a case where it required the jury to decide facts. We never know what the jury actually said and did in deliberations unless there's a detailed jury questionnaire as there is in a (very) few cases. The fact he said the jury decided "irrationally" seems to indicate he too thought the jury decided facts and they were horribly wrong.

I think it was a pretty close call and am not willing to second guess the jury.

He‘s been vaguely salty all evening long.

Nina (why was she even there?) just did her version of Marilyn Monroe singing to JFK with a particularly cringe rendition of ‘Happy Birthday Mr. Rackets‘.

Shit was fairly rugged to sit through.

lol Megan is one of those women that will tell a guy "just stop looking and the right person will come along" not knowing we men would die alone holding our dicks if we didn't approach women.
I got mad for Kurt when she opened her stupid mouth. Women have no idea and give shit advice. They also personalize shit and drag it off topic.

And now that dumb fuck Camelot is rubbing it in. Why is he there?

Poor Kurt is oozing incel vibes. Oooo. He just went Jack Murphy. Heartfelt Fuck you. I love it.

Megan is being a retarded out of touch grandma, but, Jesus, Kurt has become an insufferable avatar of bitter humorless cringe. He's about to fucking cry.
It's sad that at his age he is so hung up on looking for a boyfriend free girl. Women are an accessory not the main prize.

Chat is begging them to stop this shit and shut Megan up. Kurt is genuinely fuming, super fucking uncomfortable. Happy birthday, I guess?

She will not stop.
Yea I feel really bad for Kurt. He is radiating INCEL energy with the power of the sun. I hope he doesn't kill himself after the stream.

Megan is retarded. Branca needs to be tagged in to beat the bitch down.

I just skipped to see the verdict, but I see this is yet another case where Branca insists that the trial judge got the jury instructions totally wrong.
I missed the closing arguments but according to Branca the prosecution critically misstated the law with respect to TX Penal Code Chapter 9:

"Sec. 9.31. SELF-DEFENSE. (a) Except as provided in Subsection (b), a person is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect the actor against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force."

According to Branca, the legal interpretation of this is that everything after "reasonably believes" (i.e. up to and including "unlawful force") has to be reasonably believed, not per se correct. But (also according to Branca), the prosecution told the jury that if the force was not necessary to protect the actor against unlawful force, it can't be self defense. Which is flat out inaccurate: self defense merely relies on the actor's reasonable belief based on his perception, not 20/20 hindsight; it is entirely possible for both parties to have possible self defense actions based on the fact that they used lawful force based on the fact that they thought the other's use of force was unlawful.

Then not only did the defense not preserve the issue for appeal by objecting, they leaned into the prosecution's view of the law by trying to argue that she was trying to shoot a uniformed police officer and it was definitely unlawful force.

The jury clearly compromised, because if they took the prosecution's application of the law, they wouldn't give him self defense for manslaughter or murder. But they didn't convict him on murder. Compromise.
It's sad that at his age he is so hung up on looking for a boyfriend free girl. Women are an accessory not the main prize.
Kurt needs to just embrace the MGTOW ways. If you wanna sleep around, sleep around, but trying to find a viable long-term partner is not worth the drama in 2022+.

Thankfully they seem to have moved on to other topics; Megan's constant wishful thinking based on her bizarre delusion about how women ought to behave (but don't in real life) was too much.
