What's with all the "Elon is a hypocrite, this isn't free speech" seething?
The take home message shouldn't be that he is treating "journalists" poorly, the take home message should be that there is at least one major channel in the world that is open to treating people even handedly.
One of the major issues in the world is that in virtually every nation, culture, industry, society, etc. there exists a strata of society that is untouchable, and sits unjustifiably above all others. If all people were truly equal, the politicians who cast votes to enrich themselves from the policies that they are responsible for enacting would be arrested, but instead they float above their crimes and face no repercussions.
Justice for all or injustice for all. One is preferable to the other, obviously, but at least each case is consistent.

The result was that the majority out of all four choices wanted the journos unbanned immediately. So, instead of following the voice of the people, he made a second 24 hour long poll to make sure the punishment is able to last at least 24 hours longer than the few hours it originally would have. It's petty as fuck.
The "tomorrow" choice basically won by default with this second poll.

I highly doubt this stalking incident happened. The tracking was publicly (and readily) available for any nutter to use without Twitter's help.

I feel the same, but remember. They would not say a thing and even laugh and spit on you if it was you in the hot seat. This bullshit of "sticking to your principles" is only for people who use the same rule book you do. We are laughing at people, who have 0 issue doing anything it takes to hurt the people they hate. The line about not being them, really does not apply anymore. Because if you are not willing to play by the winners rules. You are doomed to lose.
