/horror/ general megathread - Let's talk about movies and shit.

Never watched the show, was pleasantly surprised with his performance and that's his biggest credit on IMDB so how the fuck else am I supposed to describe him, say he "Preppy Guy #1 in We Are Your Friends"?

It's not the greatest doesn't mean that it's not shit, or that it's not even great, it's just not a classic or a must-watch
You could have just said Timothy Granaderos but noooooo. You had to shout out your most favorite show, 13 Reasons Why, a show watched entirely by gay men and women.

Nigger, 8.5/10 is a fucking super high rating for that opinion.
I don't know why you're being so fucking autistic about this. "Really liked it, performances really elevated it, could have been predictable but wasn't, really liked the ending, it's really good and deserves to be watched with full attention, just don't expect the greatest thing ever"

"Probably not actually cis"tern troonbler:

Speaking of autism, I was watching some of the BTS footage from Great Yokai War. The child actor star said he was initially intimidated by Takashi Miike, but they ended up talking about Pokemon and trains.

Was Takashi Miike the fastest case of burn out or what? It made sense considering how many movies and TV shows he does on average but the dude was the next big thing until right around 2006 when Imprint came out. He seemed bored with his own material. Either that he settled down and/or sold out.
That burnout was due to the fact that a lot of his films (regardless if were good or not) were released in the states due to his hype. He even got a cameo in Hostel due to Eli Roth being a fanboy.

I didn't like Izo or his Yakuza game movie adaptation. I still need to watch "First Love" which is the most recent of his films. He is just a director for hire that gets creative freedom with certain projects.

First Love is one of my favorite movies in recent years. Miike has always had a spotty career, releasing gems sandwiched between mediocrity.

13 Assassins, Hara-Kiri, Over Your Dead Body, Blade of the Immortal, First Love, all fantastic newer films by the guy, sandwiched between a lot of bullshit.

Well which films of his have you seen post-Imprint?

Well, okay. I admit I've only seen 13 Assassins and didn't really care for it much. It has some Miike-style weirdness but aside from that it's a pretty generic kind of movie to me. I keep meaning to watch his adaptation of Blade of the Immortal.

So yes. I acquiesce that perhaps he made some later fantastic films? But he made 40 additional film/TV shows since Imprint and he's still going. I go off of word of mouth and I haven't heard of much of anything he's done excluding 13 Assassins and Blade of the Immortal.

Blade of the Immortal was great, I enjoyed it a lot. Had some surprise heartstrings scenes.

Just because he thunks you doesn’t mean he hates you

inb4 thunk
I always take thunk as a positive reaction, actually I take all stickers as positive reactions.

I thought Jenna Ortega was fine. The other one, she's either black or half black, was obnoxious as fuck.
Ortega was good, she wasn't mentioned in my post. The terrible actress pictured portrayed the older sister to Ortega's character.

If the filmmakers have any smarts then they will shift Ortega into the new lead and leave the terrible actress who played her older sister in the dust because she was a complete flat-line and one of the reasons that movie was so dull.

The only thing I thought was notable about Scream 5 is that one of the killers is a Redditor.
Weren't both the killers in Scream 5 redditors
