Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

It was in the maid cafe chapter, which is why the Japanese are so mad that the anime drew her as slightly below average. Ryou in the manga also has a surprisingly large rack that also got severely nerfed in the anime (along with removing her maid costume entirely).

I think the fan outrage, while kinda cringe, is justified in this case, because apparently the artist decided to crap all over the mangaka's original character designs because he liked lolis or something. Regardless of whether it's for a stupid, horny reason, if you're adapting, you need to respect the original creator's vision.
it's not that anime always keeps it consistent tho, wouldn't surprise me that in a possible OVA beach-episode they suddenly got a lot more big bocchis all around.
dunno if it's because loli, all the chars look like stick figures (which I noticed instead of bocchi's bocchis, didn't even think about it). so maybe just a general design decision. it's not like cloverworks can't draw booba, just look at my dress-up darling.

Ok just finished part 6, and SBR better be worth it when its adapted cause I'm getting a bit fatigued with the jojo anime.
I did like a few things about it, the fact that Pucchi was pretty much present from the outset instead of like 3, 4, and 5 where the main villain didn't show up till the last few episodes (still think Diavolo was the worst one to date) and not counting the universe reset the last few episodes where good. But I think part 6 had the weakest supporting cast in any part. I kinda thought FF and Anasui where annoying for two different reasons and what the fuck was Araki smoking for Weathers backstory. Jolyne was alright for the main jojo, not the worst one but not the best.
Also can someone clarify about the ending, were only people killed directly by pucchi completely rewritten in the new universe or does that go for every single person. cause if its the latter it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing that everything from parts 1-5 got erased.

Only people that died during the reset were rewritten so basically anyone Pucci killed, the people who died during Made in Heaven's acceleration, and Pucci himself. Parts 1-5 wouldn't have been affected in anyway except Jotaro maybe having a different name but still being the same person except he's a better father due to Pucci not fucking with him anymore.

wonder how many people want the old fan comic of him bring jolyne Irene to morioh to be canon

I watched GATE for the first time recently, little over a week ago, and as a military buff, I have to say, I'm impressed with the use of tactics and the accurate portrayal of weebery among the ranks. The fight with the Flame Dragon was very impressive, in animation, writing, and the use of combined arms and the accurate portrayal of the weapons such as the Panzerfaust 3. It's a shame that we aren't getting any more, because I fell in love with the characters, the world, everything. If I had to knock something against it, it's the underuse of magic, which could have leveled the playing field.
You could always just read the books, all of "season 1" has been translated. I haven't actually read them, so I can't vouch for their quality. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/gate-jietai-kare-no-chi-nite-kaku-tatakeri/

So, I watched the second season finale of Pop Team Epic:

They even played an orchestrated version of Season 1's OP.

10/10 ending. Would shitpost again.

New Bocchi was good, couple of fantastic moments but the best was the Killer Queen reference. I did get a bit stressed in the end expecting Bocchi's guitar to break or something.

How I see it, Pucci himself got rewritten out of reality so the world is as if he never existed. Which means every previous part is still canon (since Pucci never got involved in them) and Jotaro is now a better dad because he didn't need to spend decades tard wrangling Pucci. But there is some butterfly effect going on with the characters related to Pucci.

I'd also agree it's probably the show with the least interesting supporting cast, though FF is still pretty good.

Just want to say that I finished watching episodes 11-17 of Code Geass, and it was the wildest batch of episodes I’ve seen from anime of its time. I’ll elaborate more hopefully before next week, but later tonight I’m watching a few more episodes.

Right now, I’m on episode 18, and I have seven more to go. It’s really coming to a head so far.

I am finally up to date with HxH, I liked it a lot, but imo once the hunter chairman arc starts it becomes a bit boring, the exposition rumps up 3x at that point

Anyone remember Majestic Prince?

Funnily enough I rewatched it a few months back, even with hindsight still think it's a solid mecha series and wholly undeserving of a lot of the flak.
Part of it might just be my love for the art style though; the series got Fafner's and Gundam SEED's Hirai Hisashi to design the characters which really gives it that pulpy early 2000s shine.

I do often wonder if there's any anime that people like but are afraid to talk about it for one reason or another like it's content or the fact that it's considered quite trashy.

I imagine there's quite a few that have some but thanks to the current state of opinions on the internet they would just prefer not to talk about them.
