Got a video or two to drop on ya - reviews of Doug's movies Kickassia and Suburban Knights, with To Boldly Flee on horizon.

Kickassia review: https://youtu.be/6eNDwXjygzY

Suburban Knights review: https://youtu.be/f0ZQ3cP34pY

The creator of the videos is TheAlmightyLoli, "famous" for making a 20+ hour analysis of the Berserk manga and a video on lefty comicsgate hypocrite and pedo apologist JustSomeGuy. Besides reviewing the actual movies, he also goes into the Channel Awesome drama and brings up the document where TAL comes to a pretty good conclusion.

Everyone from CA is a liar and should not be trusted.

He also streamed all three movies with his buddy PunishedShota where they react to the movies. Highlight reel of the streams can be found here:

Suburban Knights - https://youtu.be/wzaRBxF_5q0

Forgive me but the names of TheAlmightyLoli and PunishedShota don’t exactly make me believe their opinions have any weight.

As I recall, Doug reviewed all his anniversary specials in-character at one point.

I don’t really think you’re meant to take any of them all that seriously, save for maybe the last bit of To Boldly Flee since it was meant to be the retirement of the NC character. Kickassia was just an excuse for them to all meet up and have some dumb fun together along with doing some of the stuff fans always wanted to see at the time.

I don't know To Boldly Flee was up its own ass most of the time with how everyone had deep philosophical discussions

I've seen a post in this thread about Doug having a hate-boner for Matthew Broderick. But I think his most retard hate-boner for some reason is for Jeff Goldblum, even when I used to watch NC in the past it used to make me uncomfortable the way he was just all out throwing shit at Goldblum.

In his The Lost World: Jurassic Park review this is more apparent, specially when they dedicate like a minute in a half making fun of Jeff's manner of speaking, which is very petty in my opinion, very appropiate that someone like Rob could offer himself to make that joke, and even if the joke was funny they're dragging it for way too much to the point it becames uncomfortable.

Honestly, has any of the actor bashing that was done ever been justified? I forgot how many of those actors were his common targets.

Considering this is one of his favorite Christmas specials, I’m interested to see what he’ll say about it.

You guys are acting like hating actors isn't something that people should do.

Critic was not the first, nor the last, to mock Goldblum's speech cadence. Goldblum, Shatner, Schwarzenegger, Stallone, etc. All are commonly mocked.

I vaguely remember when Channel Awesome was one of the biggest sites on the web and was actually taken seriously, but its like trying to remember a fever dream.
Sometimes, timing trumps all talents and abilities. They had all of the desperation and shamelessness of theatre kids to be seen and put in a lot of effort into an untapped market while siphoning fans from NC and bringing their own fans to CA.

They were around at exactly the perfect time when internet videos were starting to be monetized, found a niche, and created regular content. It didn't have to be good, necessarily; it just had to be regular because they had little to no competition in the market. CA understood that, which is why they were so hardline about video production schedules from their "talent." They were also able to share fans with each other due to frequent crossovers.

In hindsight, the quantity over quality aspect is sort of funny now that everybody and their cat is a wannabe internet personality with a review channel, but they played it perfectly at the time. You're absolutely right that in hindsight 98% of what they created was and still is and always will be an absolute embarrassment, however.

That's true, but that's not the point I'm trying to make, it's the amount of sperging that Doug gives to Goldblum for no good reason. I dare even say that it's worse than his sperging on Matthew Broderick on the Inspector Gadget review.
