I don't have much to contribute other then I went to a serial killer triva night once (i got a friend whose really into this stuff).

Just fish belly white, chubby, bespectactled tattoo'd girls as far as you can see. Like they were all cloned off each other. Strangely alot of them in sort of a 50's housewife like aesthics (horn rim glasses, put up hair, white foundation+red lipstick) in dresses that usually had skulls and bones on them.

I remember hearing about one case where a woman was killed in the streets of some big city at like 4 in the morning, and the true crime youtubers were so convinced it was her partner, then it turned out to just be some random black guy who didn't even know her and it took the wind out of their sails real fast. Theres like no real evidence pointing towards Scott at all. The documentary on hulu highlights the absurdity extremely well. He got railroaded by the police department and the media, hes like the prototype for reality tv sensationalism tainting a trial; he was convicted by the media and never had a chance. Its honestly insane, they literally put him on death row for cheating on his wife.

Two or three of the jurors in that case were fuckin lolcows themselves, and they interview them on that series. Ones a simp and anothers a retarded single mother. I actually really recommend that series, its not too terribly long and is a great example of how shit and corrupt our justice system can be, if you like to get incredibly pissed off and hopeless like i do from time to time.

Another case that got out of hand was the Heidi Broussard case. TLDR: New mom goes missing with her baby, her fiancé gives an awkward interview for tv, true crime fans immediately declare him the new Chris Watts (I have learned to hate the phrase 'duper's delight'), but it turns out that her good friend killed her to steal the baby. Now of course the significant other is always a suspect when a woman goes missing, but this case went down very quickly and the internet descended on this guy with an insane ferocity.
So-called 'Body language experts' have conned people so hard for so long that too many people think they can look at someone and discern if they're a killer. I hate it.
