This morning, I was in chat and people were bitching about the new Powerpuff Girls show, trying to claim that it was the end of the world because those dang dirty social justiss warriors had ruined the show and that there was a whole ton of nostalgic sperging about the show and this got me thinking. There's a lot of this kind of incessant bitching on Tumblr not just about this topic but it's whenever decades are talked about, there's always that one bratty little autist that has to go on and on about how better they are than everyone else because they love to hate on a certain decade or time period and think everything else is fucking garbage. We've all seen them before elsewhere but on Tumblr they are in great supply. Let's make fun of all of these tards in here.

The only thing I could sort of agree with is with the Chloe backlash, because Chloe really could've been written better than just being 'perfect'. I can also agree with the hate on Teen Titans Go!, but on a different level.

Butch Hartman has a tumblr. I know there's a chance he won't really pay attention to any message that you write to him about the show, but complaining about the new characters he added won't do much good either.

I would be upset at the new cartoons, but they aren't for us anymore. I'm shocked that people still watch these shows well into their adult years tbh, but then again, I have an anime avatar so... I just don't see the point in being salt. If the younger generation likes it, then why should the producers care about what we think?

Oh my god, there's someone I follow on tumblr who has been almost nonstop reblogging posts bitching about new Powerpuff Girls. Every time a new episode comes out, inevitably there's angry bitches who have to ragetype about how TERRIBLE IT IS YOU GUYS THIS IS LITERALLY THE WORST.
But, you know, they then proceed to type out intensely detailed synopses of all the terrible things about said episode, implying they watched the whole thing anyway.

As much as I personally find putting ragefaces and dumbass slang in cartoons (especially ones I grew up watching) stupid as hell, there really is no point in a grown-ass adult getting upset over kids cartoons. Yes, there are memes in cartoons now. Why? Because kids these days are interested in memes. There were pop culture references in cartoons I watched growing up, too. It's not like the 90s were a mythical time period where they cordoned off artists and musicians in white rooms and forced them to be creative without extraneous influence.

Also, "childhood ruined" has got to be the most overused non-gender-related phrase on Tumblr. If a cartoon artist drawing your favorite cartoon differently really changed and dramatically fucked up the course of your life, you must have as rich a life as OPL.
