So Elissa is looking out for Kayla (who she has some connection with) while expressing concern over Nick's behavior. Not by being malicious necessarily, but by simply using Nick's own words.

Nick, being familiar with Elissa, then decides to address her publicly on her channel by taunting her rather than taking the high road by either ignoring her or contacting her privately. Nick then justifies his behavior in his own mind by taking a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" stance even though it definitely would have been better optics to leave her alone.
