I don't know, I think Heinlein would be pretty happy with cashing dem checks and hoping it might lead people to read the original. He doesn't strike me as the type of guy who would've been anal about adaptions. Also, funny enough, John pretty often advocates his views on citizenship and rights that would also be the opposite of Starship Troopers.

Hmm, I've only seen the Verhoven Starship Troopers movie, and I had read the book. One things is most of the people who like that movie root for the troopers. It's kind of similar to 40K in that way. I imagine Heinlein might have been amused by that. Also, Verhoven was making a point about militaristic societies... but the military was still pretty cool in the movie, was it not?

One of my favorite things was when Mike Stoklasa (of Red Letter Media) compared it to the Star Trek Original Series episode Arena and decided it was the anti-Trek.

#2 was complete garbage. #3 was also really terrible but in that so bad its fun if you watch it with a bunch of drunk friends. They got the right theming with the bumpers, the one at the end is the absolute best.

The CGI series was actually pretty good for a saturday morning cartoon.

John, if you wouldn't do the maintenance on these cars yourself but outsource it to someone who didn't chop his cock off and knew what the fuck he was doing, these are one of the most reliable type of cars you can buy, even in the winter, you dumb troon.

Not to power-level, but as a car guy, seeing him complain about maintenace on a fucking Porsche 911 is hilarious. It might be the most reliable, easy to maintain Hitlermobiles you can buy.

Rule of Rose usually starts at like $300 used, it rarely drops under $500 from Amazon sellers for example, though it's definitely not hard to find if you're willing to pay for it. Frank definitely knows how to get a perfect gift for John.

Also, most people who have played it don't seem to like it other than the story and art maybe. Which makes it doubly perfect for John.
