i strongly agree with that it really pisses me off how the law treats a 19 year old having sex with a 17 year old in some states the same as a 30 year old and a 13 year old same with human trafficking i think cartels and rape when i hear that not guy pays camgirl harem so i think this is BS and tates gonna prove his case much like the last time and he will come out free and stronger than ever if he goes to jail even more promo for his return i see tate winning this either way

The issue with carson was more along the lines of having the underage person sending sexual images of herself to him over text (Would be considered distribution of cp), not the relationship itself

For my take I think 16 is a reasonable age of consent. I don't think 16 year olds are as mature as adults but neither are most people in their 20's. But I find the creeping infantalization of young adults to be off putting. It seems to me more like he's pointing out (accurately) that there's a significant subset of people online who are obsessed with portraying every single sexual interaction as involving a victim and a perpetrator, unless it involves a dude being pushed around like a house elf by an obese divorced mother of 2 who sleeps around with other men.

Predation, he was pressuring her.

In terms of high schoolers trading nudes, if both parties delete the photos and there's no foul play then there should be no charges leveled. But if one or both parties starts spreading the photos around to humiliate, blackmail, and belittle their partner then CP charges should be considered, but I still think it's fucked up to level the same charge people get for raping children on video against dumb high schoolers sending dick/tit pics.

I think you already touched on it but there's also a double standard between the sexes on this issue too, it's only when a man is with a woman who is younger than him that predatory intent is applied to the situation. When a 46 year old teacher sleeps with her 11 year old student the common response is "DAMN WHAT A MILF, LUCKY KIDDO, SOMEONE GIVE THIS WOMAN THE PRESEIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, GOOD ON THAT BOY!" Age of consent should be 18, as with all adult responsibilities. If you want to stick your dick in someone that doesn't have the capacity to understand sex, consent and the consequences, you should be snuffed out.

So at the age of 18 a magical switch gets flipped in your brain that makes you finally magically capable of understanding what sex and consent are, but until then you're just an innocent toddler wholly incapable of understanding how those things work? I don't think anyone actually believes this but a lot of people will just run with it out of fear that they will look like pedophiles if they disagree. Because, as I joked about in an earlier post, ethics and morals can sometimes be conveniently boiled down to "whatever the law says" until the law disagrees with them on something else.

I do not believe for a second that 16 and 17 year olds are these innocent little beings that can't understand how human reproduction works and are wholly incapable of consenting to sex. Charles XII of Sweden was capable of leading an entire nation through war and empire at the age of 15 but 17 Y/Os are too stupid to know how sex works and if they're being taken advantage of? It just seems like a preposterous notion on its face and it really does reek of "the creeping infantalization of young adults" as @Ser Prize said in an earlier post.
