After years of living with his "friend," I had been led to believe the Jawbreakers Marine was Zack's self-insert/wish fulfillment character and he had abandoned women (who have children and divorce you) for the objectively superior sex (who own cool dogs and sage the house). Guess not.

I think Froggie's pose is a contrapposto, very classical, but something about the angle seems a little unfortunate. Like Jame Gumb, he appears to be tucking whatever's he got down there but emphasizing his chest, asking the viewer, "Would you fuck me?"

Nasser is a good guy. He’s been staying out of drama and the quality of his books has been consistent.

It’s a shame that YellowFlash incident relegated him to the CG slums. It’s been years since that shit happened and the majority of CG fans still won’t let that go.

I think the key difference here is, as Gabriel Al-Tayyib (PBUH) himself pointed out in his twitter denunciation of David Williams, Williams actually sucked it up and drew the scene for Bass Reeves like a professional. Which gets into the reason Gabe (aka 'Gaybe' now) has gone so hard in the paint over getting triggered over comic books to the point where he posted pictures of his stillborn son on twitter: the true source of delays here is that Gabe is actively refusing the work submitted by David Williams because Williams is insisting on some plot point where the sidekicks die in the story and Gabe is refusing to proceed.

If it were just a matter of Williams prioritizing the Bass Reeves TPB over his pre-existing commitment to TJAW or turning out 13 pages in the year since the campaign has launched, I would have sided with Gabe summarily sacking Williams for failure to deliver. Coddling creators is fucking gay. But on a close reading of what Gabe is actually saying in his twitter thread, it's clear that the only reason both of those things have happened - that the book is late and that the backers aren't getting the original artist they were sold on - is because, again, Gabe is refusing to accept the work Williams is turning in because he reserves the right of creative veto over the co-owned project. Now it should be noted Williams is also refusing to budge on the issue and thus shares some measure of culpability with the project's problems, but the matter about bitch notwiser and wife with cancer are ultimately just shit thrown out to obfuscate the actual issue here.

And this is the charitable interpretation of events - the more cynical possibility is that the whole creative difference is just a contrivance on Gabe's to take on the art duties and seize complete control of the funding for himself.

It seems that Gabe made the classic mistake of, since he was able to convince an audience on things they were already predisposed to believe ('Gay Superman is a terrible idea', 'Mark Brooks is a soyboy homo'), concluding that he must now possesses extreme powers of persuasion and the ability to convince people of anything. In this case, the first that the audience wasn't already inclined to accept without question the claim that a well-respected fellow creator known for decades among the elderly CG pro set has been a narcissistic sociopath grifter the whole time. Pushed to actually substantiate his allegations for the first time, the swarthy Svengali collapsed instantly and an almost unprecedented consensus from all sides and stratum of Comicsgate has emerged: that Gabe is an inept, manipulative dumbfuck.

Though surrounded by dayglo plastic paraphernalia and unfurled beachtowels, things seem dark in the Frögenbunker as of late. Frog knows from experience (the Breitweiser/Ernst feud of 2018 ) that inserting himself, or having others insert him into conflicts within Comicsgate as an adjudicator and lawgiver, is a extremely bad idea which usually ends up with one if not both sides turning against him and hounding him for the rest of their natural lives. In case there was any doubt of this hard-earned wisdom, Smiller took a break from publicly bullying Jon Malin to needle the Comicsgate masses that Frog must involve himself and address this issue. Truly, no good can come from him getting involved from this.

And yet, on one hand not disavowing Gabe Eltaeb means deeply alienating his fellow creators in the CG community, to say nothing of a significant number of backers. On the other hand, disavowing Gabe (as Isom's colorist) means severing one of his last toeholds to the rest of the anti-SJW youtube sector outside of the CG bubble with Gabe. It's a no-win scenario and he knows that. All in all it is quite the pickle Frog has found himself in (ehehehehe). One of the consequences of the loss of Sketch Therapy (f) is Frog's unpreparedness for Smiller's schemes and scams, both imagined (okay, mostly imagined) and real.

In a colossal eight hour livestream, now removed by Google due to easily avoidable copyright violation, Frog tried to turn this around on his tormentor by employing the Alinsky-esque tact of taking the Williams/Al-Tayyib dispute and personalizing the issue around Smiller somehow as the Emmanuel Goldstein of Comicsgate. He even went so far as to threaten to not cause trouble with this as a wedge on how Shad Brooks' employee is attacking Eric July's employee and not tortiously interfere with Smiller's business the way he's involving himself with Comicsgate's. But he could. Smiller, Frog explained, has been unable to attain true personal autonomy unlike himself and Jon Malin and must answer to employers, who because of his mediocre and inferior skills, must see him as the disposable, easily replaced grunt labor he truly is. Jon especially liked that part. Just something for Smiller to keep in mind. Unfortunately the, to borrow a phrase, "bogstandard art" descriptor apply infinitely more to a colorist like Gabe than Smike "George RR Martin's personal comic artist" S Miller, and infinitely more to an employer like Eric July than Shad Brooks. The true horror of the situation for Frog, that Smiller is the bridge from Comicsgate into the "Iron Age" circuit and not Gabe "Gaybe" Al-Tayyib, has yet to fully sink in.

On said previous show, Jon Malin acridly pointed out Gabe's vivid silence of the word or subject of "Comicsgate" on his publicity tour for TJAW (which Frog efapped) and flat out declared Al-Tayyib's twitter thread to amount to no less than flagrant emotional manipulation of his audience. Shane Davis didn't seem to have a dog in the fight - although he likely considers Patrick Thomas Parnell a friend - but when pressed for an opinion, mused on how Gabe's narrative on how he had no choice but to abrogate the creative partnership doesn't really add up given the sparse and selectively chosen information supplied. Off the show, Fraga and Lopresti have stated that they've considered Williams a personal friend for decades and they're standing besides him. @Kelsey, beloved drunken elder of Comicsgate and fellow Allegiance Arts employee, went so far to register his disgust at the treatment of his coworker and friend. Not even Matt Bahr (who I'd put good odds on beating Smiller like a dog if they ever met again irl for tearing down his comic table banner ten years ago or something) has really lost sight of Gabe being a piece of shit here. Something along the lines "that fat retarded goofy fuck and his gay bullshit is ruining conventions for all of us". @robo6 for breakout CG star of 2022 btw.

Overall, the eight hour two minute hate doesn't seem to have been very effective, as hatred of Smiller does not seem to have made the Comicsgate creator community forget that Gabe will rip them off at the earliest opportunity and won't hesitate to threaten lolsuits against his CG "brethren" if they say anything about it. It didn't really placate the more jaded backers on how they're not getting the art they were promised either. Quite the pickle....


So here were are. No closer to the lofty goal of "making this shit go away" then before the big marathon stream. Some might even go so far to say holding an eight hour livestream on a subject is not the best approach to make it go away. Thankfully, such voices have no say in these parts. After a 'brief' warmup of 17 minutes, Frog addresses a chat on how Nerdette's crew is commenting on the Al-Tayyib scandal, pointing to it as a cautionary lesson on why Comicsgate must project strength at all times. When Comicsgate falters, Smiller laughs. The main point being, both Gabe and David are welcome on his show. You know who's "side" Frog is on in this dispute? Comics' side. #teamcomics. The streamyard link has been spread in all of the backchannels and any one can jump in and feel free to share their opinion, to which Frog can respond with his newly embraced creed of inclusion and professional discretion. A half hour passes. Then an hour. No one shows. Then an hour and a half. Frog buys for time, going over the main points of the stream, reading every chat ruminating over his own considered opinions on the matter (David Williams was irrational in prioritizing Bass Reeves over the much bigger project in TJAW, Gabe was irrational in shutting the project down over dead sidekicks, creators should never go equal partnership as a clear singular direction executor is required on a creative project). He noisily eats into the mic while listlessly rattling off superchats railing on how they never liked Gabe from day one. The crowd grows impatient. Nobody is joining the stream.

Frog tosses the crowd some red meat about some things that Gabe did that annoyed him, like demanding the purge of Vito Gesuldi on all CG-related channels and snaking Mitch Breitweiser. Personally I found myself liking Gabe more after hearing he got up to this shit, and was reminded of the old truism that nobody is all bad. Frog however holds a differing opinion, asserting his absolute sovereignty over his youtube platform by saying, quote, "Do not tell me what to do on my channel. Don't ever tell me what to do. I will bring anybody in here. I will bring Adolf Hitler in here if I want to. You don't like it, don't come in here. Don't accept my promotion. Simple as that." He also added that he requested of Gabe that he apologize to PTP for threatening a lawsuit. Gabe also threatened a lawsuit against Smike, but fuck him. He can go nuts suing Smiller and still be CG I guess.

With no other options Frog posts the streamyard invite link for the Joe Q. Comicsgater to join. God help us all.

First up is "Opinionated News Guy". While sufficiently bald and old to have a place in Frog's show, when questioned on his stance on the Gabe/Williams dispute he stated he ha "no opinion" other than apparently hating Smiller to the point where he rages against Mike for retweeting Shelley Lopresti's support of David Williams with his unclean twitter account. When pressed though, he finds it 'pretty sus' that Gabe is now locking down his twitter threads discussing the situation. Unfortunately for ONG, fencesitting and hating Smiller is the position Frog is taking here and he has no plans on competing for that spot, and so promptly ejects News Guy from the stream. He later goes on to send a few superchats cursing Smiller.

Next is "DonDrawsStuff". Don's most famous moment was his infamous announcement that his girlfriend broke up with him over being Comicsgate; he might not have had a career in comics to lose, but he was cancelled from having sex over supporting Comicsgate. Unfortunately for Don his audio was not set up properly and echoing. Don feebly bemoans this twist of fate, "I don't wanna be of those guys who echoes..." like he was in one of those horrible nightmares where you have to stand up in front of the class and realize all of the sudden that you're not wearing pants. Frog politely removes Don before his inaudible opinion could be voiced

Next up are perennial CG Slums residents Finatra and DarkGift Comics. Frog asks if these two are aware that they are on the stream they are about to efap, mostly because Frog boomered his reupload of his original stream and now must efap an efap in order to discuss what's on his mind. Comicsgate youtube you see is like a cow, where content must be chewed up, ruminated, regurgitated, chewed up and regurgitated again until every last unit of nutrient within the low-yield cud is extracted.

Frog warns that this show, where Fin and Grift are genially discussing Comicsgate affairs with the Hated One, will be systematically picked apart and each piece will be subjected to the most scathing criticism and scrutiny. That this efap may come across as a.... session of struggle, if you will, for these two wayward slumtown residents. Fin and DarkGift react with exhilaration, congratulating themselves to finally be streaming with the bossman himself. Finbros and Griftbros stay winning.

DarkGift, a fencesitter of legend, wisely begins adding qualifiers for what they're about to see. That he learned much of the details of the Williams/Al-Tayyib dispute during the discussion with Smiller and was ignorant of key aspects of the matter; afterwards Grift went on to do further research after the stream, and so his opinions and positions at the current moment are not what the viewer is about to see. What are said positions now? Well that's a private matter. Finatra takes this one step further, saying he had no idea what was happening at all or what was going on when the event took place. The whole situation is just too complicated and confusing for a layman like Fin to follow. There's no way that a humble man of slum could possess the insight or knowledge to pass judgement on the dealings of middle aged men selling comics on the internet. Hilariously, Frog accepts this explanation. They begin to view the stream. Much of it is along the lines of Mike saying things like "Not a lot of people seem to like Gabe right now" and Frog pausing to yell "No! People love Gabe! In fact I'd say most people are behind Gabe on this issue", followed by unpausing to hear J Money say, with emphasis "Nobody likes Gabe". Frog prematurely loses his interest in continuing the grueling efap after getting blown out by a pre-recorded J Money of all people.



This promised deconstruction, as well the fury of Frog's followers doesn't seem to have cowed Smiller, who shows up to start dabbing in Frog's chat. A lone Comicsgater superchats a penis-resembling eggplant emoji for $5 in defiance of Mike's power. DonDrawsStuff tries to rejoin but his mic has a different, equally crippling audio issue. An unusually depressed "Old Dirty Fatty" joins to talk about how this sort of nonsense from creators crushed his dreams of getting into comics himself after graduating from the prestigious Kubert school of comics.

It's at this point that Shane Davis joins to 'save' the stream, by which I mean sit there while Frog shills Inglorious Rex 2; a not-to-subtle dangling of the carrot for why anyone would want to go on this show. After ten minutes or so of thrilling small talk about Shane's mustache and taking his cat to a doctor, Old Dirty Fatty is the first to actually forward an opinion about TJAW, lauding Jim Shooter's tight leash on creators. Comicsgate - the comics customer advocacy movement - could learn a lot about placing the customer first from the mainstream. Shane in turn 'contributes', "I don't have much of an opinion, but I think they should do the book as described". Dan Lawlis, some guy who once did something in comics back in the 1980s, is the next to hops on board to discuss an art contest by Camel Moon, but is wrangled by Frog for another go at efapping this stream. Lawlis is game, eager to lay blame for this whole debacle at the culprit responsible - Smiller - and that no true friend of David Williams would force Gabe Al-Tayyib to divulge all this stuff about David's wife's cancer. For shame, Smike. Frog adds to Lawlis' point with a riveting speech about how Smiller is bad and he is good and thinks only of others. Pictured: two spellbound listeners.

Dan Lawlis goes on at length about the audacity of Smiller's behavior. How he unforgiveably and inexplicably ignored Dan's mentoring, his authoritative advice as an elder that once passably drew Iron Man 30+ years ago until other, presumably better artists came along to do the b-list series and Lawlis went on to live a life of obscurity, to respect Frog and how Mike's irresponsible words can effect others. Shane 'contributes' an analogy about how Mike 'is like those two dogs from that cartoon, you know the big one and the little one? And like, Mike is the smaller dog'. Also, something about how judging things is bad and unchristian. There's also some reiterating Frog's previously made argument against equal ownership of IPs. Lawlis adds that he "thinks both guys are good guys" and they should come together and finish the comic six or seven additional times.

Things are getting bad; it's been two and a half hours and not a single strong opinion has been expressed. Times call for desperate measures so Frog sends the invite to Pete Callan, a man of chat living in what appears to be an attic full of masks that has been regularly sending donos to shit on Gabe. This guy is guaranteed to have an opinion to push back against. "Pete," Frog asks, "what is your take on this? After reading, after seeing David's response..."

"Well one seems rational, one doesn't. It seems simple to me. But to be honest the thing between David and Gabe doesn't really concern me. It's the behavior Gabe's doing and his sanctimonious bullshit he's spewing."
"Sanctimonious?"
"Yes."
"That's the word David used. Now, why do you say sanctimonious?"
"Because I read his tweets."
"What in particular about his tweets were sanctimonious to you?"
"Uh, I didn't know Comicsgate needed protecting from Dave. I didn't know Dave was out there trying to kill kids and thank God for Gabe out there savin' 'em. It just seems like a lot of manipulation."
"Did you personally feel that Gabe, well from what I hear you're saying-"
"People's shit is what I'm saying."
"Oh. Did you personally feel that Gabe was trying to acquire you in a war against Dave Williams?"
"Yes. If I was an idiot I would have bought it."

Grift visibly shifts at this crude and inexpert attempt at what was intended as a presumably a neutral cross-examination that in execution resembled the softest layups. Frog merely adopted the fence; DarkGift was born on it. Molded by it. By the time he was shown an opinion, DarkGift brought the dialogue to a screeching halt by demanding some agreed upon terms on what an opinion actually is, and not just like, what your opinion of an opinion is, maann. Lawlis bails Frog out with a long monologue about Smiller tormenting Gabe El-Tayeb about David William's sick wife. Damaging both parties' reputations by bringing this dispute into the light. Hurting everyone. "Yeah but wasn't this happening before Mike?" interjects a bored Shane Davis. "Yeah but they seemed liked they had it worked out though before Mike got involved." "No they didn't"

And with that, the conversation peters out. They reread the Gabe twitter thread. Dan Lawlis says they're both great guys a dozen more times until someone in the chat points out Gabe is his employer for an upcoming project. Mandy Summers joins and is asked what her opinion on this whole mess is. Answer: she doesn't like it. Frog demands Smiller join the stream and fight him after ignoring him didn't seem to make him go away. David Williams writes from the chat for Lawlis to shut the fuck up about what he has no idea about. The creators with campaigns shill them, and with that the stream ends.



And so closes another hot-button Comicsgate topic on the issue of Truth Justice American Way.

A full-on retard war between Guntopia and CGville was not even on my radar for 2023. God bless the poor impulse control of the internet. This is shaping up to a wonderful episode of clown world.

As with all things on the internet this has a fair chance of fizzling out in a disappointing fashion, but a man can hope!

This might be a repost, (I did do a thread search, but we all know how well those work) but Eltaeb was on the Babylon Bee podcast a month ago. The few minutes I listened to were actually...kinda boring. Rehashing his bona fides (more impressive than I first thought, TBH) then into SJWs, culture war, the same shit that has been recycled by various YouTube "creators" for coming up on a decade at this point.
