Ryan is Fire's current "boyfriend", as opposed to Locria, who is Fire's current "girlfriend".
Ryan is a poly FtM (of course he is). It's not clear that they've had more than one date, but that still makes his relationship with Ryan more legitimate than his relationship with Locria, whom he has yet to meet IRL.
Ryan has a lot of political stances which are in conflict with Fire's, so expect drama. Ryan is also a paid employee of the Human Rights Campaign, so it wouldn't surprise me if Fire's interest in Ryan is entirely self-serving.

Fire is exactly the kind of SJW who Ryan openly criticises on his FB page. Fire thinks he's this great persuader who can influence people to change their minds about *important issues*. In reality, his condescending, self-righteousness just alienates everyone and I suspect he's going to alienate Ryan fairly quickly.
Fire is stupid enough to assume that someone like Ryan can help him get the things he "deserves" from the system. Fire's absolute inability to shut the fuck up makes it impossible for him to maintain the "victim of circumstance" illusion more than momentarily, though. You see it in every single internet community he joins. He alienates people and very, very quickly.
Ryan may be fucked up, but I see no evidence that he's stupid.

I don't know what Protestant or Non-denominational seminaries (that allow women ministers, or MTF/FTM) are like in terms of entrance exams, but I do know that Catholic seminaries make men go through extremely rigorous psychological exams before entrance these days, and that you need to get the 'all clear' from several different people who have known you and worked with you for years (for reasons that are painfully obvious).
Fire sounds like some kind of non-denominational type of Christian (particularly the type with a paper-thin theological foundation that is the obnoxious "Jesus loves you" type), so he'd in absolutely no way be competent enough to dispense spiritual counsel, much less lead a church), so he'd probably get through with no problems or entrance exam, sadly.
