One thing I noticed in the dancing video, there's a Christmas tree on a wall shelf. None of their faces melted by being in the same room with it. Chantal could have had a small one, he could have surprised her with one, they could have done something to make this marriage seem real.
I can't blame Salah in trying to take everything he can from her. She's a spoiled North American pig who makes way too much money humiliating herself on YouTube through her gluttony. He lives in a country where he'll never have equal rights to Kuwaiti citizens, he'll never make it past the situation he's already in, has fucked up norms about how men and women can interact and if he is gay (I really don't give a fuck if he is), that faces jail time. Did you see that room? It's the same thing Salah was living in when she got there, one room, that's it. With her, he got a kitchen and a bathroom. Jesus, that's bleak. Mock Canada all you want with your edgy (and tired) "Tranada" jokes but at least there's hope here. Too bad we can't trade citizens. Kuwait or Syria can have Chantal and Salah can come here.
