Well Alaa seems like a nice enough guy...and he really emphasizes that he isn't doing this for money, and I am inclined to believe him. He seems to have self-control, which is something usually absent from Chantopolis.

He is gonna become a real thorn in Fatso's side, and she doesn't respond well to irritations. At the very least, the picture-perfect life she has painted of wedded bliss with Salah (despite all appearances to the contrary) seems likely to come crumbling down like the house of lies it is.

Chantal lying about Alaa's ability to speak English is bizarre. Why would she bring that up repeatedly as a dig, when it was obvious that he'd go live and speak English fine? That just undermines everything she said even more. Her insane overreaction to the things Alaa said just completely gave her away.

I am duly impressed by the, "Salah, Alaa, and Nader go live - 3 in 1 Nescafe" joke. For him to make that joke shows that he (and his wife?) have been keeping up with Chantal's channels. That, and the joke about going live with Nader as Chantal watches from home. Since his wife is a gossip and fluent in English, maybe she's found us as well. If so, she should have a lot of ammo against Chinny.

Hopefully this new character doesn't disappoint. There is so much potential here. It doesn't even matter what the reason is - whether he's doing this to make a quick buck at Salah's expense (doesn't seem like it), whether he's mad that Salah put an end to his potential love connection with Chinny, whether Salah and Alaa are in this together to make some money off Chantal and get back at her - it would all be some badly-needed entertainment.

And one more thing:
Alaa made clear that the reason he uploaded that old NYE clip was to show how happy Salah is/was with his friends, and how he doesn't display that kind of happiness or fun-loving nature with Chantal. It's so weird that Chantal was presenting that upload as some kind of attack on Salah -- how could that even be construed as an attack? I also love that she admitted prodding Salah with, "You'll never ever, ever speak to Alaa again, right?" after Alaa asked for her number and she gave it to him.

Man, I hope Salah is in on this with Alaa. Alaa seems to be the only person in this whole mess who realizes that the easiest way to make any money here is to capitalize on people's hatred of Chantal. Not even Nader could contain his ego enough to exploit that fact to its potential. A tell-all from Salah would be amazing.

I wonder where Salah's breaking point is.

It is hard to conceptualize the importance of western citizenship without having lived his life--and that is undoubtedly why he is enduring all this--but I wonder if Salah isn't nearing his limit.

It's clear Guntal wants to isolate him (see: tactics employed during Nader and Bibi arcs) and it's also clear Alaa is at least a year-long friend, seemingly longer. I have to imagine the remainder of Salah's friend circle are less inclined to "come around" after all this.

Salah has demonstrated he is physically repulsed by her. Guntal herself has admitted her "husband" is not fond of several of her traits, including but not limited to eating habits, rage streams and crass behaviors.

Combine these peeves with purportedly driving a taxi just to both keep the lights on & feed his blushing bride, Salah's patience must be rapidly eroding.

Arabs, among other cultures, seem to speak in metaphor a lot. Salah’s face used to be open like a flower, but now since Chantel it’s closed. But he’ll open again.

His wife did nothing but cook and clean for them, and cleaned under Chantel’s legs. (I assume that meant if anything got dropped the wife took care of it and not something four black guys would be doing.) Alaa has a new car, diamonds, big house, he doesn’t need money.

He repeats many times that Salah is a good man, but says sometimes when 500, 2,000, 25,000 comes up heads turn. I have no idea if he was talking about money or not or implying that Chantel was paying or if those numbers referred to something else.

He made the reference about Chantel not bending down, how much she eats, and his wife is thin. He told his wife not to comment but she’ll go on with him. Maybe he can get Salah there too and Chantel can watch alone.

He speaks English enough to get thoughts across, but is not fluent and has a heavy accent so forgive me if I got some of that wrong.

Maybe I have a problem with Arab accents because I never understood a single word Nader said and stopped even trying to watch his streams early on,, and while this guy is easier, a translator would help. Maybe his wife will be better. Hopefully they follow through.

I don’t think Chantal did anything, she hid in another tent due to a headache. Clean up under Chantal probably means when they ate Allas wife picked up Chantal and Salahs dishes and washed them and cleaned up the spilt food on their part of the plastic table cloth. Been sort of trying to keep up with the medical side of Chantal’s story, did she really mention she was taking Citalopram? It’s the middle of the night here and I’m delirious but I’m pretty sure that’s a different antidepressant to what she’s stated as taking in the past. And if so that may explain the rapid weight gain - it may or may not be personal experience but that drug can blow you up like a balloon.

Medical kiwis can correct me, and please move this to the medical thread if you think it necessary. I just wanted to mention it as a change of meds might explain some of the physical and emotional changes we are seeing.
