The hell? So now she's saying that transitioning early is bad? Isn't that Stephie and Ciel's whole point: transitioning as early as possible is just the best?

Maybe that's why Stephie looks so pissed in the picture.
No, she's saying transitioning is bad because tran.s people should only identify as "tran.s", not male or female.

French version of the new poster, @Hat .

Native French speakers, pick apart at will.

Every possible position is problematic so we might as well all kill ourselves now.

No, she's saying transitioning early is only okay if your thoughts and motivations are sufficiently pure.

Trying to pass, or - god forbid - helping someone else pass is literally violence, because if transpeople aren't instantly noticeable, that's basically the same as if they didn't exist. And why wouldn't they exist? Maybe because you (yes, you) genocided them all.

Hoo boy, where do I start...Sophie fully confirmed for only wanting to be "tran.s" not female, Sophie once again advocating for all children to be allowed hormones or hormone blockers whenever they want them, Sophie contradicting things she's said before, Sophie being a blithering idiot...

THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AND ALLOW HER TO TEACH CHILDREN!
Guill, you fucking hypocrite!
You've been advocating ALL kids to take hormones before puberty just so they could decide if they were trans.

Is "trans" a new gender now? No longer just trying to pass and feel like the gender you identify as?

For Billie, tranny is just saying "I don't want to be a boy or a girl anymore".

But he insists this definition is absolutely correct, and anyone who disagrees is an awful person who might as well just go out and shoot trannies in the street.

This guy really has no place teaching children.

Wow, Stephie really let herself go. Were those puberty blockers actually lard pills?

I checked the only few german pages of Assigned Male, to see if her german blows just as much as french (It's only the plot with getting to know Frank over the school project) and asside from using some words that don't really happen that often in german (for instance "nerdig" aka nerdy is not a term germans use) it is... surprisingly good.

This just makes her fuckups in french even more mysterious to me. Why is her german pretty much down on spot, but french, what I supposed her native language to be, not?
Maybe she translates the French pages while the other ones are transtaled by other people.
I mean, the Spanish ones were good as well (except for the use of "gender neutral" terms that don't actually exist, but that was probably on purpose.)

French from France, so I admittedly don't know much about Canadian French-specific things.
To be honest, I wouldn't say her French is completely mangled. It just tends to have this "I google-translated this from English" vibe (which might just be a Canadian thing, true) but considering the kind of person we're looking at here I wouldn't be surprised if the "spent too much time on Tumblr, forgot how normal French-speaking people talk" theory turned out to be true.
Although I'm an Anglophone, I speak Quebec French and can confirm that Sophie's French is pretty bad by our standards as well. Everything she writes seems needlessly wordy to me. The use of Anglicisms makes sense since most Quebecois (and hopefully French-speakers in general) don't have enough fucks to give about sjw buzzwords to create proper translations. But yeah, the French looks to me like it was written in English and then translated directly without looking at how awkward the translation is even though it is often technically correct.

Also (I'm a little late on this, but eh), I'd like to point out that while the proper French translation for comic is bande dessinée, I've also heard them referred to as bandu/bondu. I always thought that was a regional slang thing, but it's possible that's where Stephie's surname actually comes from.

And hello kiwis. I've been lurking this thread since the beginning and finally created an account just to sperg about languages :)

So how is "trans erasure" a bad thing?
Are oncologists comiting the crime of "cancer erasure"?

A popular outrage of the day among the transactivist community is "invisibilization". This refers to society basically turning a blind eye to trannies, and people just assuming passing trannies are the gender they identify. This is of course the goal of most transsexuals. But for some more radical activists, it's a form of violence because it doesn't recognize the "tran" part of transsexual. These people--people like Billie and by extension Stephie--think trannies should be recognized as trannies first and their preferred gender second. Doing otherwise is basically telling them their identity isn't valid, which also means you don't think they should exist.

The trannies I've met definitely want to be "invisiblized" as trannies so as to pass at their chosen gender, and treating them as Labelle wants would totally break their immersion or whatever. As being legitimately trans is a mental thing, they'd really rather not think of it, or be reminded, or tell others. Can't imagine it's a super fun trend anyone can join, but Sophie seems to think otherwise. As I was told, if they're passing and not being recognized as trans, treating them like Labelle wants would be sort of like outing a closeted gay person.

That and the fact he insults actual dysphoric transsexuals as "truscum" just strikes me as a huge dick move. That along with his self-appointment as official tranny spokesperson and mouthpiece. I'd imagine to actual trannies that's like if a straight metrosexual hipster declared himself leader of the gays, then when they questioned him, said "hey shut up you homophobic faggots, you don't have to be homosexual to be gay, I just like your fashion!" Or like when that white woman pretended to be black to lead that civil rights group.

Paradoxically, Billie also drew a comic and I think a poster telling the reader outing trannies is violence. Made even more confusing since the tranny getting outed is Stephie. Who's compelled to tell everyone she's tranny and automatically assumes everyone she meets is genderfluid.

Wasn't too long ago there was the one where Stephie gets all upset over being outed by Frank to his mother, despite outing himself constantly to anyone and everyone within earshot.

The thing is, everything Sophie says is incoherent blithering idiocy. Not only doesn't it make sense, but the opposite of it also doesn't make sense. It's just fractally nonsense on every single level. Move in close, and it's bugfuck crazy in a different way. It's just wrong on every imaginable level.

And no matter how wrong it is, Sophie will contradict it 10 minutes from now, say the exact opposite, and it will still, somehow, be completely wrong.

See, on some level I can agree outing someone is pretty shitty. Because, you know, most trannies want to be seen as what they look like.

But Billie thinks "awareness" is more important.
