Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Agreed. Asylum was the best in the series. I really disliked Arkham Knight for forcing me to play driving games. If I wanted to race cars, I'd play Gran Turismo or Mario Kart.

Unrelated: Bulletstorm is one of the best action shooters ever made. The graphics were great, the animations were slick and the actual gameplay was fantastic. I don't understand how it wasn't a massive hit.

Actually, maybe I do. It was released around the time that the SJW infestation of gaming journalism had really started to take hold, and a game as unapologetically masculine as Bulletstorm definitely would not have been approved of by the proto-Woke types.
I still shrug at the term "male power fantasy"

Its unironic use by feminists is always hilarious - you know, that same group of people who'll stridently insist that men are oppressing them and that they live in constant terror of being overpowered and raped. Like, which is it, ladies? Are men more powerful than you or not?

9.5 times out of 10, it just signals they support taking money from the fuckheads you just named,
No. It is never about money with these people. Never. All that matters to them is The Message.
You're right to say gaining asspats is part of their motivation, but money plays absolutely no part. If it did, they would deliberately not cater to Troons and Pedogays.

Regarding the woke debate, I have a simple question:

Why give an inch? What's the benefit?

We all saw what happened with that one game that didn't have dedicated servers.

You think these goons with no impulse control won't buy and play it? Please.
An inch of cock up your arse is still gay.

If you accept anything, you are gay.

I prefer matchmaking over a server browser. There's something magical about waiting in a lobby for others to show up.

MW2 is regarded as the GOAT of CoD, but the honor should go to CoD4. It pioneered every multiplayer shooter trope today: matchmaking, progression, create a class, variety, easy to learn, hard to master. You could tell that IW poured their heart and soul in the campaign and multiplayer.

Unpopular opinion: The Batmobile in Arkham Knight was awesome and AK was a great game, the Batmobile was just overused in crappy stealth tank battles, and used for too many boss fights.

Unpopular opinion 2: The Deathstroke fight everyone spergs out about how great it is in Arkham Origins and cries it wasn't copied for Arkham Knight is just a big quick time event and not that special.

I liked Arkham Knight better than city, the main problem were that it ran like shit on PC due to bad optimization but if you get the game running well then its fun.

When it comes to battle royales and extraction shooters, Squads are actually a cancer. All they do is punish people who want to do a relaxed run, because they're either up against an actual team who's using out of game voice chat, or because there's only so much resources you can use as one man. The amount of times I've taken down two players, only to have a third hit me in the back while I'm reloading is just fucking pitiful. It's basically tard wrangling. While I'm at it, they're cancer for devs too, as they massively lower the amount of people playing your game. Compare the numbers of solo players, vs players who can get 2-3 friends together to play the same game (assuming they waste money on your shitty games), at the same time, regularly.

And while I'm here, it is possible to worry about wokeness too much. Keep in mind, I have no love in my heart for that shit infecting everything I do, from tabletop to gaming to fucking reading, but there is a point where you're acting like just as much a reactive little bitch about things. I've seen people adore every aspect of a game, think it's the best shit ever made, but because the game says 'body 1/2' instead of male/female, it's woke shit, and they'll never touch it. There's nothing else woke about the game, just one word on a screen you'll see once per run.

I'm not saying 'body type' is a good thing, it's fucking stupid, but for fucks sake, it's not that bad.
Death by 1000 cuts. We keep slipping down that slippery slope, keep giving an inch while they take a mile. Anyone who can't see that by now is either a zoomer or extremely naive.

That one word on a screen that you see once per run is them signaling that they support grooming children, pumping them full of drugs, and permanently mutilating them. It is that bad.
This guy fucking gets it.

Based Miyamoto. That game was a tedious slog and I'm still annoyed that I wasted my time playing it because "surely it must be really special if it still has a cult following nearly 20 years later".
And that cult must be 41%ing themselves after Ubishit's disastrous handling of the "sequel" development.

It the kind of game that bombs hard in sales, only game journos like it and 20 years later everyone is a hipster for it without having played it.

I call it The Earthbound effect.

It had some twitter-esque writing and the marketing was shit.

If they do make a Mass Effect TV show they need to lock down Henry Calville because he's the probably the only actor who can do Commander Shepherd.

I played it all the way.

It is mediocre. I will give it points for a fairly unique setting but that's it.
Yeah, I'd say it has a pretty strong art style overall (especially for the early 2000s), but the game underneath is just boring - the combat is boring, the sneaking is boring, the puzzles are boring, the vehicle sections are boring, and the story is boring.
