You have a point.I think you’re on the money with most of this, but (4) isn’t really an argument against Ada. Olly acts on his affected interests. He drew from Henry IV for The Prince and wrote parts of it in iambic pentameter. His hunger for prestige sets him on high effort paths. In light of his past behavior, it’s perfectly conceivable that he’d promise years of his life to a profile raising affectation — after all, that’s what he did with Philosophy Tube.
I think we have to face the possibility that Contra is the love of Olly's life and he pines after her everyday. As a vulnerable narcissist, he probably obsesses over every rejection he's ever experienced - the mysterious literary agent and Hannah from Year 11 are both clearly cases in point.tbf, Olly doesn’t seem to maintain friendships well beyond Twitter, so he could be referring to any number of other lost friends. But it’s funny to imagine him seething and vagueposting and threatening to spill His Truth at a blank white wall, so I will.
I'm not sure either, but a lot of the Google Image results do give me strong Philosophy Tube vibes:Pls expand on the lip thing you mean, I’m not aware

POV: Olly making eyes at you in the bar.
