My view on this whole fiasco was that a small contingent of a political party held out for favorable terms.

Personally, I view this as a positive unlike when progressives bitched and moaned about Pelosi while subverting Force the Vote tactic.

Is this a joke? No one on the left is going to be touched by this. It'll make the rounds on FOX and Breitbart but go no further then that. You have to remember Ashley Babbit and anyone else who went into the capitol are considered literal domestic terrorists involved in trying to "end democracy" in America according to the left. The Freedom Caucus and the Anti-McCarthy Group definitely did more then whatever the Democrat Progressives and the "Squad" said they would when it came to Pelosi. Now the question is if the "favorable terms" will amount to anything or will McCarthy even honor them in the first place.

If the Freedom Caucus really embarked on this without a plan to hold McCarthy to any agreement, then they are indeed retarded and the blackpilling is warranted. For now, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they weren't stupid enough to go into this without leverage.

I'm going to go with both. There were threats to go with Jeffries, and that the FC aren't the sharpest tools/are corrupt. And everyone wanted to start their weekend already. This whole thing was a real "see Congress prioritize" performance.

Time and time again, Congresscritters always find ways to wrap things up before a weekend or vacation time.

The FC has no leverage. What are they gonna do, not vote on Uniparty bills that will have cross-aisle votes?

The blackpill is vindicated only because it's more convenient to roll over and pussy out and get the nothing you expect to happen just to fulfill a self fulfilling prophecy than it is to hope or work for anything you actually want. It really is the bottom of the barrel kind of existence befitting most of this gutless shitheap of a generation I'm stuck sharing with. It's not even on a level of political association anymore; I literally don't give a shit right or left, but this site has had such an influx of negative nancy niggers who repeat the same shit in a tearstained freak out over and over again while shoving their fellows back down into the crab bucket. Every time.

To be fair the dooming is a little overstated, something would've broken on this eventually and it was always likely a RINO would end up with the gavel, whether McCarthy or someone else. Would've been nice to have this carry on through to next week, but having this impotent hack run through the wringer is enough entertainment as is.

The one positive is we're in for two years of hilarious gridlock. Dems will cross over for debt ceiling increases and Ukraine/Israel government funding bills, but there's enough Freedom Caucus members apparently willing to gum up the works to ensure damn near nothing else gets done.
