Crime Transgender Butler County man says group beat him up over restroom use - The man wants criminal charges filed against his alleged assaulters.

PREBLE COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - An Oxford resident says he was attacked and beaten while camping because he is transgender.

Noah Ruiz, 20, was born a woman and has female body parts but identifies as male.

He says he was using the women’s restroom in a Preble County campground—which he was advised to do—when a group of men came after him.

“I have bruises on the back of my head from being punched in the back of the head,” Ruiz said Friday.

It happened July 3 at Cross’s Campground in Camden, Ruiz says. He recalls going to the women’s restroom when a female in the stall became upset.

“I was using the bathroom, and she just started shouting. She was like, ‘Who the [expletive] is in here?’ And I replied, ‘I am.’ My girlfriend replied, ‘I am as well.’ She was like, ‘No man should be in this bathroom. Like, if you’re a man you need to use a man’s bathroom.’ And I was like, ‘I’m transgender. Like, I have woman body parts, and I was told to use this bathroom,’” Ruiz recalled.

He says as he was walking out, three large men approached him. In the end, he was left with several cuts and gashes across his body in addition to the bruising.

“They, like, grabbed me up off the ground. They choked me out. They said, ‘I’ll kill you, you [expletive] doing all this.’ And I said, ‘Dude, I’m not, I’m using the right bathroom. Rick Cross, the owner of this establishment, told me to use the bathroom. I’m following the rules,’” Ruiz explained.

Preble County sheriff’s deputies eventually showed up and arrested Ruiz for disorderly conduct and obstructing official business.

Preble County Michael Simpson says the deputies weren’t initially aware of the assault, that a large crowd had gathered, that Ruiz was highly intoxicated and that he was becoming belligerent.

“Noah was so upset at the time, he was trying to explain what has happened, and no one was listening to him. So Noah did then get out of hand, and he admits to his part of getting out of hand, from screaming, yelling. He was in defense mode, and when police got there, they didn’t listen to him. They just immediately started shoving him to the ground and doing what they needed to do,” said Ruiz’s mother, Jennifer Ruiz.

After Ruiz’s arrest, he was able to file an assault report with the sheriff’s office. He says he wants the men held accountable for their actions.

“I feel like something does need to be done to the people who hit him, and the police need to take charges against them for hitting him,” Jennifer said.

Jennifer claims the men repeatedly called Ruiz a homophobic slur.

“That’s not safety, and I worry for the other ones that are there. If we don’t do something about it, who is going to do something about it?” Jennifer said.

The fucking audacity of Aiden's. They want it both ways. To be a man, but to tap out of manhood whenever they feel like it. Reminds me of the FTMs who fled Ukraine to avoid the male only draft.

Even if this is true then they deserve it. Fucking terrorising women when it suits them. If this was a detrans woman it would be different, but the audacity of just using a women's toilet because you don't feel like dealing with a man's toilet is peak troon entitlement.

Real men don't get to join the ladies in their spaces when they don't feel like dealing with other men's bullshit. We just suck it up and accept reality, something a FtManlet will never understand.
This was misreported.

She wasn't beat up, she lost a YGO duel.
Sounds like by the end of it those heroes flipped her face down.

If you get beat up for going in the womens room it just means you pass as a man, congrats on avoiding that dysphoria bro.
There was an amazing comment on the reddit news thread for this story. They were speculating that normal people will be mistakenly targeted by "transphobes".
This woman claims that despite "looking like a normal girl" she's repeatedly been thrown out of bathrooms and locker rooms, had security called on her, is constantly harassed and rejected by society wherever she goes. She doesn't have friends because they can't handle The Muttering. All because she's...5 foot 11.

IF this is an actual female AND this all really happened and she isn't just schizo, (if!) my best guess is she dresses like a combination of a turbodyke and weird antifa femboy and people are actually confused about which way she is trying to Do The Gender.

But no way do I believe normal tall women get treated like that. Extreme doubt.

She’s just outright lying. That height is tall for a woman but it’s not even strikingly tall. Sigourney Weaver is six foot tall. Most catwalk models are 5’10 at a minimum (Gisele Bundchen is 5’11 for example). Have you ever heard a catwalk model talk about being mistaken for a man?

For contrast, someone like Gwendoline Christie who actually plays Amazonian female characters is 6’3 (and she still doesn’t look like a man)

Hearing is 10am Monday 19 July in Eaton, OH. (twitter, archive)
I suck at dates. Hearing is Monday 18 obviously.

Selena's reposted (archive) the video of the group of people, which mysteriously disappeared.
Idk why this was deleted but i was shoved into the white fencing while surrounded by a dozen people. I will be heard ! The way i reacted to sverythibg is on me but who wouldnt in a situation like this???
Except now the audio ("I have titties don't I!?") has been replaced with music, so I think she pulled it deliberately.

She posted another video of the incident, also without sound. (tiktok.com, archive.ph)

In the description she asks: "How would you react?"

There's one more new video, but it's just screenshots of news stories. The description is interesting, though (my emphasis):
There are more articles posted! And yes i did say and agree to being belligerent and acting out against what happened. But as ive said multiple times NO FEMALE OFFICER WAS PRESENT. How could i scratch someone who was never there? If need be i will subpoena the cameras in the cell. But yes i did act out toward polce and everyone else after being beaten and jumped then arrested and thrown to the ground by police. BUT NO FEMALE OFFICER WAS PRESENT THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS IN THEIR CARE ONLY TO DO MY FINGERPRINTS. #trans #transpride #transgender #trangenderftm #LoveIsLove #stopthehate #justicefornoahruiz #support #foryou #foryoupage

Apologies for double-posting, there's something about this story where I can't look away as it gets closer and closer to the cliff edge.

Serena has a new TikTok where she addresses all of her supporters, featuring extremely masculine mannerisms. (tiktok.com, archive.ph)

Definitely looks like someone who had the shit kicked out of them 11 days ago.

A long article on kweer website Them which includes some (I think?) new stuff (them.us, archive.ph):
This article contains graphic descriptions and images of anti-trans violence.

A 20-year-old trans man was attacked over July 4 weekend for using the women’s restroom at a campground — after being instructed to use the women's restroom. He was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business; his attackers have not been charged with anything at this time.

Noah Ruiz was using the women’s restroom at Cross’ Campground in Camden, Ohio, per the instructions of the owner of the campground, according to local news affiliate Fox19. Ruiz had been coming to the campground for seven years, including pre-transition, and asked the owner of the campground which bathroom would be best for him to use, to which he was told that the women’s would be the “safest,” according to a tweet he shared on Monday.

A woman in a stall became upset upon seeing Ruiz, Fox19 reports. Ruiz told the outlet that the woman said, “‘No man should be in this bathroom. Like, if you’re a man you need to use a man’s bathroom.’” To which he says he responded: “‘I’m transgender. Like, I have woman body parts, and I was told to use this bathroom.’”

Ruiz alleges that after he left the bathroom, he was approached by three men who shoved him and yelled slurs at him. The attack escalated from there, he says, with dozens of people joining in.

“There was an old man that picked me up by my sports bra straps off the ground and was saying he was gonna kill me and calling me a fag and shit like that,” Ruiz told Them over the phone. “I had somebody choke me out to the point where my face turned purple.”

A Preble County Sheriff’s Office report obtained by Them corroborates Ruiz’s account of events, with one witness report stating that a crowd of approximately 40 people were involved. Ruiz is misgendered and deadnamed throughout the report, which refers to him as a “transgender female” and includes a witness referring to him as the “primary aggressor.” The suspects’ names are redacted from the report, and during questioning, one suspect was told he was free to go anytime. One witness even insinuated that Ruiz had been “touching children,” — a common narrative used against trans people utilizing gendered public facilities — but admitted that it was just hearsay.

When police arrived at the scene, Ruiz was already upset and yelled profanities at the cops. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and spent the night in jail. While Ruiz admitted to refusing to comply with the cops and said he would accept the charges against him, he told Them that the police have not reached out to him about charges pressed against his attackers. Ruiz testified, but was told that the police had to send his testimony to somebody else and it was unclear if “anything would be able to happen at this point.”

Them reached out to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office for comment and received only the police report in return.

“I was in jail the first day, on the second day I was on bed rest — I literally couldn't move,” Ruiz said. “How is there nothing that we can do about this?”

Ruiz alleges that it wasn’t until Fox 19 published its article that the sheriff’s office continued with the prosecution and asked for video and photo evidence of the assault. Ruiz complied, but said that he still hasn’t heard back.

“They keep saying that they had no idea about the assault that happened but I had multiple witnesses and multiple people, my girlfriend, my family and my sister — like so many people just yelling for them to listen to us and go get the people that put their hands on me and abused me and beat me,” Ruiz said. “But they just refused to listen to me. They refused to listen to any of us.” Ruiz also recounted and shared images of his encounter on social media.

Ruiz said that the incident was “traumatizing,” and that he doesn’t feel safe going into any public restrooms. “My body is healing physically but we're gonna have scars that just don't go back to normal,” Ruiz said. “So it's definitely going to be a story for my life, to look at it and be like, ‘Hey, this is what happened to me’ and I live with that every day now.”

Despite the fact that he is still healing from the incident, Ruiz said that he had to return to work as a construction worker shortly after the attack. “The amount of equipment and everything that I have to wear is still so painful to this day,” Ruiz said. “I don't have insurance so I'm not able to go fully get checked out at the hospital, but my ankle is so swollen and just painful putting it inside boots. My wrists are swollen — I literally gasped every time I'm putting gloves over it. I still have a dent in my wrist from how tight the handcuffs were.” But with $800 bail alone, let alone inevitable legal fees, Ruiz has been left with no choice but to return to work.

Ruiz sees his attack as part of a broader pattern of escalating violence against trans people nationwide, and is keeping this in mind as he seeks legal representation. “I wanted somebody that stands with me and supports me and our cause and who I am, and not just a lawyer that wants to come in and be like, Well, I can just get you out of these charges” he said. “It's something that's gonna stand for everybody because this is a hate crime. This doesn't just stand for myself and my charges that I will take if I need to; they need to understand what is really going on out here.”

Ohio is one of 13 states that does not include sexual orientation or gender identity in existing hate crime law. Still, Ruiz has been heartened by how extensively a GoFundMe he started to raise legal funds has been shared ; at the time of publication, he had raised $9,116, with the initial goal being $5,000.

“I have so many supporters out there right now, which I'm so grateful for,” Ruiz said. “I feel like I finally have a fighting chance.
It says that Ruiz will accept the charges against her, citing one of her tweets (archive.ph, archive.ph), in which case I don't understand the need for now $10,000 in GoFundMe cash for "court fees and lawyers". These seem like really minor charges, surely any fines will be small?

Is she going to plead guilty on Monday, pay some trivial fine, and then just flounce off with the rest of the money?

Can’t quote the above, but I just wanted to highlight something I noticed.

Seems that wherever she works, she did this on a smoke break. She also didn’t seem to check the video at all considering both the vape and numerous camera adjustments made it into the final video.

Says she works construction in the Them article:

Not sure if anyone can say what the round blue/black thing in the back seat of the car is? (A helmet?)

I'll try to grab the radio interview she mentions if/when it's available.

Yeah, you’re right that’s clearly the inside of a standard safety helmet. Anybody entering a construction / industrial site semi-regularly is likely to need to keep one in their car. Honestly looks like an ordinary construction worker on a Friday night before hitting the pub up LOL, if this is on their lunch break then I doubt their actual job is fairly described as “construction worker” (anybody who wears this to work is not working construction) , they just work in the construction industry.

It's been a while, and sorry for necro'ing the thread, but I wanted to tie up this loose end.

Casting your minds back, the situation was that Selena Ruiz / Noah Ruiz claimed to have been assaulted for using the women's toilets at a campground, and then police showed up and arrested her -- in her telling, that she was the victim of both an unprovoked assault and wrongful arrest.

Things dragged on a bit, this is from August about a pretrial hearing:
www.facebook.com_selena.ruiz.90857.png

Then two and a half months later, in late October, Selena reports on the final outcome: she pleaded guilty to aggravated disorderly conduct.
www.facebook.com_selena.ruiz.90857 guilty plea.png

Guess it was bullshit all along, what a surprise.

Edit: Forgot this initially, but looks like GoFundMe locked her fundraiser for legal fees:

Came across a little more background on Selena as I was scrolling through her endless shit-tier memes. It seems she was molested as a child:
selena-ruiz-molested.png

Her reaction has apparently been to impersonate a gross dude as a form of protection. Aside from substance abuse, lots of posts like this:

Woman gets raped, her life goes off the rails, abuses drugs to cope and makes increasingly poor life choices. Sad. Many such cases. (Now with extra Trans™.)

Plus bonus pictures of her pre-transition:

So this cunt is larping as a man yet wants to use the female restroom? Trannies can't even be consistent about their demands.

This is why transitioning shouldn't even be legal. You're a man or a woman, cope.
