General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Yeah, this is a lie. There's a rumbling recently when Hana delayed her 3D the second time that some of NijiID livers are saying their disappointment with the company
'Rumblings'.

It's perfectly fine to prove me wrong, but please provide proof outside of your lauded indog Facebook group network before brandishing my comment as a lie. My list of things they did last year and the start of this year is non-negotiable. It is a fact that ex-ID have holistically been given more material attention since the merge.

Now if you have cause to believe that ex-ID have expressed interpersonal issues with the company through timestamps or tweets then this forum is the perfect place to lay it out for actual tangible discussion, but everything you've said about ex-ID has been, in my opinion, not fully considered and your rebuttal to me was just 'no u'.

Tenma's currently lamenting about not being able to collab with people she likes because of the reputation that Phase Connect has gotten....
She just got finished telling a story about how someone she looked up to immediately turned her down because that person couldn't get involved with a political and yabai company. I don't know how much of a problem this actually is because this feels like woman pressure release.

Is really an issue? Isn't a good thing that there are vtubers that don't cater to snowflakes?

Hana passed on getting 3D numerous times before and only has it now because of being in the main branch, so any thing else is happenstance due to shit like covid or her literally getting sick before. NijiEN also have said they're disappointed at times. As have JP, as have KR. Beyond that unlike EN, their branch wasn't exactly that well off, KR just as bad. The whole point of merging them to main branch was better support. Mika is the only one in the spotlight because she's willingly ignoring everyone calling her a leech, the other people have said they would be as "out there" as mika but want to avoid that image.

Hmm, I was wondering if Lord Commander Chaos ended up somewhere after his rather sudden retirement. I'll miss the old persona for sure though.

Why do some suspect its him btw?
i think its because some of his old friends liked his first tweets.

also its hard to imagine anyone giving up 10+ years of content creation like that. but i guess you can argue a person would give up if they werent going anywhere. im not familiar with his content. was he good? was he gaining any traction at all before is graduation?

Let's put it this way, aside Noel and Mel, many Hololive girls easily gave up their past content creation/spotlight and a few instead of returning to TV/Idol (IRL) life, they chose to focus on HL. The issue with past Vtubing personas in particular, it's insanely hard to maintain 2-3 personalities including a professional, contracted one if you don't want to literally burn out into ashes. Even more so if your past persona had a ton of traction. For example you have to maintain numerous social medias (multiply that by 2) multiple videos (including shorts and whathaveyou) multiplied by 2 and networking to maintain relevance, multiplied by 2. As for gaining traction, yeah he gained a bit, a lot of "suspected candidates" seem to have had a sudden jump near the end or after their graduation (to get in before the lock.)

Since you're new here, yes. Yes it is a potential issue. Phase Connect is not a political corporation. It is a vtuber agency. Unfortunately it has gotten an iffy reputation through no fault of it's own. Pippa's explosive success has come at somewhat of a cost due to, to be frank, the people who have flocked to her. Even Pippa has talked about how other streamers are afraid of just her chat. Any other agency or vtuber worth their salt will know that they are a business and will thusly make smart business decisions, priority one being protect their brand. For a run down of why streamers, agencies, and even Phase Connect is leery let's watch this video from the dearly departed Daddy Jim.
Pippa has been very friendly to this site, and I am very grateful for that, but the site, regardless of how almost all of it is lies, is radioactive. It is a stink that does not wash off easily. Nobody in their right minds wants to stink so they will keep their distance. This doesn't just effect things like a simple Phasmaphobia collab. This affects getting into conventions. This affects growth. Why would someone who's just a casual watcher of someone like Pomu or Pikame waste their time with the political chuuba company affiliated with channers and doxxxing sites? Why would a chuuba who's finally getting some traction or has actually made it want to risk contaminating their fanbase with members from this no no groups fanbase?

Your wording of "cater to snowflakes" suggest a certain leaning to me: You are a based bro, a goddamned chud. Sweet. I hate to tell you this but fishman, for all his faults and slip ups, is not trying to cater to them nor is he trying to. He's casting the widest net possible while following the company's goal and direction. That is how they do not die like so many other companies before or after them. The second they change direction to not "cater to snowflakes", which would imply that they are now catering towards the chud, Phase Connect looses over half of it's audience at least and stifles it's growth.

This isn't that difficult. PC and it's talents are just here to have fun and get paid for doing it. This hobby is supposed to be about cute girls doing cute shit to distract me from the horrors going on in the world.

I enjoyed LCC. Liked his model and he seemed like a good dude. 13.5k followers on Twitter and 200k YT subs and 67.3 followers on twitch. I'd say he was making decent progress. Especially as a indie Male Vtuber. Think he was only at the Vtuber side of things for about a year as well. Nothing to sneeze at, I'd say.

As the local economics retard I can confirm just about everything here. However, I would also like to add a point about market saturation as now the vtuber market is saturated, and the best way to expand (in the short term) is appealing to niches and expanding it out to make it more palatable for mass audiences. Its a fine line but from what I've seen, new vtubers do not have much of a choice anymore if they want to be ""successful"" and as such, must act in a way to maximize the appealing parts of their niche and distance themselves from the more radioactive elements (at least publicly).
