Community Munchausen's by Internet (Malingerers, Munchies, Spoonies, etc) - Feigning Illnesses for Attention

Beloved Medfags, can you re watch this clip for me and confirm something. Rose doesn't seem to be on the vent any more ever in any of her recent clips. She seems to say in this confession vid that she can't have the trach cuff inflated without triggering coughing and vomiting that made her stop breathing (I think from my own reading around breathing difficulties in trach patients whats happened is most likely it sent her into bronchospasm). She's since deleted it completely.
Is she actually saying between the lines that rather than failing the speaking valve she can't have the vent on with the the trach at all?

I think she’s saying she has to have the cuff inflated 24/7. Which is a roundabout way of saying she doesn’t breathe on her own at all other than “a few minutes a day”.

Impossible though, you have to deflate it too eat and she just had her feeding tube pulled.

edit: But like wtf do i know, I'm just looking up all this on the internet. Maybe someone actually has some more in depth knowledge of this.

What I hear is "my shiny new medical toy isn't fun and I can't engage on social media like I want"

No no, it's not related to eating at all. Different pipes yo.

No she says if her cuff is down + vent on, she can't tolerate it and has coughing fits (need cuff down to talk). So she can only have cuff down + vent off when she wants to speak.

So it's just coming off for filming then. She does look well without it though doesn’t she? Given her supposed respiratory muscle weakness those minutes filming a video would be plenty of time to start desatting and yet she remains as perfused as a perfect peach. What a medical mystery.

Alexandra Elaine Adams, the deafblind med student, posted a recap of 2022. I'm barely able to suffer through it, here's a TLDR:
- Had depression, overcame it through willpower
- Went back to med school in June 2022
- This three-sentence paragraph happened: 1673122091706.png
and she missed another term.
- Her "chunky Ryles tube" (a fancy medical word for a NG tube) coiled in her esophagus and she took an eight hour road trip to go to A&E to have it fixed

Whoever taught this bitch to use punctuation needs to be put up against the wall.

Where is she that she needed to drive 4 hours to go to A&E? I read the blog and she didn't want to go to a hospital that she'd lost trust in but unless she's in Aberdeen I don't believe she's four hours from an alternate A&E in the UK.

She goes to uni in Cardiff. It sounds to me like she went over to England to find a hospital where she wasn't a frequent flyer or known as a med student.

Big lols. I've wondered when I'd see slaylee on here. It's so funny to see her out of her wheelchair. I wonder which doctor wrote a an rx for it? Just kidding, she paid out of pocket. They don't rx wheelchairs for ed. I can never wrap my head around these munches who enjoy their wheelchairs. Then when they actually get sick or have mobility issues it's no longer fun and they ditch the chair.

I have a video of Slaylee doing a sensual wheelchair dance and it's hilarious. Halfway through she jumps out and uses it to bend way back and do this stretching arch. I don't know how anybody could see that and be like "yep. That chick is REAL disabled and needs that chair. " At this point I think it's just a matter of time before she gets her first toob.

She reminds me of Allyson/microcatmachine just not quite as insane/unpleasant. Just give her bpd a little time to metastasize though... it'll spread throughout her whole being and she'll get there.

Rose enjoying her trach.
You know, it's interesting - Most munchies try to infantilize themselves. Rose geriatricized herself. I'm not sure I've seen that in any other munchie.
"Press X to doubt"
Looks like she's also got a raging eating disorder.

Dream heels...

I guess there's so many wheelchairs at disney you've got to go out of your way to get noticed

Skellies and their body checks… not that she’s not skinny, but she’s sucking in pretty hard in that video.
Yeah, I learned about body checks from the thread. Starving yourself feels like it would take a lot of self hatred and she seems pretty of narcissistic.

Did she have severe scoliosis that was corrected? That'd have a good chance to fuck someone up psychologically. Wonder if she can even function outside of the sick role.

Damn. I’m so sick of these whiny bitches moaning and groaning about their oh-so-terrible hEDS, and using mobility aids for attention. The absolute fucking worse thing for someone with hEDS to do is to get deconditioned. Yanno, like using a wheelchair that isn’t needed? I simply don’t understand how so many of these munchies are fooling so many people. Don’t medical professionals (if not family and friends) see this for what it is - BPD/screaming for attention/failure to launch and/or eating disorder? FFS.

This kinda BS is why hEDS has become a garbage diagnosis. Like fibromyalgia, it’s real, but people who actually have hEDS don’t claim it bc they don’t want med pro’s to associate them with these types.

Anyway I fully expect the MATI stickers for this post… bring ‘em on, bc I admit, I am.

To be clear, I’m not dinging on all ambulatory WC users here. Ofc it make sense to use a wheelchair if you have a specific issue, like bone on bone osteoarthritis due to hEDS, while waiting on insurance approval for a total knee or hip replacement (or two); that’s reasonable. But that is not what this is!

I've archived the following. I know nothing about scoliosis, but the video doesn't seem believable. Stars Kaylee - the dancing tiktoker from above.

edit: haha a chiropractor fixed her in a month. Match made in heaven. I didn't catch it was a chiropractor first go.

Question for everyone: do you automatically doubt EDS people when you see it mentioned?

I was reading a post in an illness group from an OP who wanted to know our symptoms, and how they lead to our diagnosis. I know that the group is for a rarer problem, and it can look like other things, so I wanted to respond. But then I saw a reply where OP said they had EDS, and deleted whatever I had typed.

I know it's possible for someone to have it, but that on top of the group I was in was odd. Too odd.
