I am now convinced Russia is a nation of psychopaths. I'm looking at what has just occurred this week at Bakhmut and Soledar in absolute horror. Human wave offensives, lead by penal legions. Into machine guns and artillery. For a gain of, at best, a few hundred meters. Russia may even gain control of Soledar at this rate, if only because the Salient position cannot hold against such recklessness.

My original point still stands though. Soledar is not important. The important town is just west of Soledar. Blahodatne. That is the position west of the river and crossing the main defensive line of the Ukrainian Army. Thousands dead to take an irrelevant flyspeck. Russia is breaking its colonial Empire on Ukraine. There is no way the Moscow and Saint Petersburg Metropol can continue to keep drafting their colonial satrapies like the Buryats and the Bashkir and not risk open revolt east of the Urals. Eventually Moscow must send its sons to die around Bakhmut because the Prisons are going to be empty and the East is going to be mutinous.

Team Z is sitting here cheering about literally thousands of dead Russians to take a small town of 10,000 that isn't even part of the main Ukrainian defense line in the Donbass. And even now its still not certain they even have taken that town. Not that it matters either way.
Human wave tactics haven't been used at any point in this conflict, not by the Russians and not by the Ukranians.

If America was doing the killing he'd be telling us about his freedom boner, because it's for troonery Democracy™ so you can dismiss his shitty fanfction.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, Head of Wagner Private Military Company publishes footage from inside the Soledar salt mine, Donetsk Republic - Ukrainian positions are less than 2km from here above ground, and maybe even underground...

You do realize most impartial observation metrics estimate the combined war casualties (Ukraine and Russia) at half a million dead or wounded?
What "most impartial observation metrics" are you referring to? And how do they correlate to proving "human wave tactics"? Or are you just going to regurgitate crap you "think" you know?

It's easy enough to refute your claim of human wave tactics because there isn't any evidence of it. If there was the holhol goblins would be squirting it all over the internet.

The only ones sperging are the people trying to argue a moot point even when the definition and description is provided and highlighted for them.

They are tanks, as fits their entry in the encyclopaedia.

If you seen one rolling down the street toward you during conflict you would scream "Tank!" you certainly wouldn't be screaming "Armoured combat vehicle!".
No, you'd yell "IFV!" or "APC!" or just "Bradley!", maybe in the heat of the moment you might yell "Tank!" but it'd still be wrong.

Do they have tanks underground? the soviets had tanks underground in germany and nobody knows what their plan to get them up again was.

Autisticly reposting a passage from Britannica doesn't magically make you right, especially given it's definition is woefully out of date and doesn't account for contemporary military usage.

Ukraine is Russia's Vietnam only difference Russia lost more men in war of Ukraine in two years what took Vietnam lasted 10 years and killed 52,000~ Americans.

War in Iraq lasted lasted 7 years and killed 6,000~ Americans.
Not a single mention of the hundreds of thousands of dead pro-American Iraqis and Vietnamese who were thrown into the meat grinder—yes, now I can believe that you are a third-generation journo with an inflated sense of self-importance.

Lurk moar, new friend.

Zelinsky was in Lviv very recently. Possible exchange of territory for warm bodies? Bad move on Poland's part if so.

Not so far-fetched after rumors Z-Man may give Snake Island to Romania.

Snake Island claim was solved years ago through the international mediation systems, like CIVILIZED PEOPLES of EUROPE, unlike the savages eastwards.
There are no "extremely popular ideas" of a Great Romania in Bucharest, which is under a social democrat-shitlib coalition government that is fully dedicated to US, NATO and the EU. Such claims might have some popular support, but Moldovans themselves are not really desiring a reunification, due to the idiotic Russification of the population, thanks to the abhorrent vatnik state east, they just want into the EU for gibs and safety from the same abhorrent and violent state that has created a vatnik enclave in Transnistria.
Ukraine won't transfer SHIT to Romania, it's in fact caught in a diplomatic spergery with both it and Hungary for a new minority law that is not improving the situation for the Romanians and Hungarians inside Ukraine, which Romania understandably is frustrated about after the help it gave its neighbor. Such idiotic situations are exploited by vatnik propagandists of which there are many, which under the great auspices of freedom of expression should be locked the hell down and the keys thrown away.
And the populations in East Europe, while very sympathetic to the Ukrainian plight, do NOT want to make any moves that could be construed by Russia as "see you're just like us".
Romania is NATO and NATO doesn't desire a "Great' Romania with a border with the vatniklands of Transnistria. Romania also is host to a number of US troops, which would likely be put into the difficult situation of facing against Russian soldiers directly if a chimpout is occurring in Transistria, where the vatniks will be extremely unhappy with a hostile Romania nearby, as it's one of those "fascist states" that allied with the dreaded Nazis for those exact lands.
Nothing of the sort will happen.
Lay off the Telegram spergery.

Ukraine war pushes civilian casualties from explosive weapons to four-year high
Reported casualties in Ukraine were eight times more than Afghanistan – and real figure likely to be much higher

Civilian casualties from the use of explosive weapons soared by 83% last year because of the war in Ukraine, according to a monitoring organisation that counts the number of deaths caused by conflict and war.

Action on Armed Violence (AOVA) said the total number reported killed and injured in 2022 was 20,776, the highest level since 2018, with 10,381 casualties in Ukraine alone, based on reports from English language media.

Its figure, though, is almost certainly a significant underestimate, partly because media reports only capture the most serious incidents. The latest UN figures report 17,994 civilian casualties in Ukraine, 6,919 killed and 11,075 injured.

Interesting numbers. Can't be easy for Ukraine to recover or for Russia to revive the region if they conquer it.

The European Union is “prepared for a long war” in Ukraine and will support Kyiv against Russia’s aggression for “as long as it takes”, said Sweden’s foreign minister Tobias Billstrom, whose country holds the EU’s presidency.

This implies they think of this as another endless war that the west is so fond of.

A Ukrainian soldier has told CNN that the situation in the eastern town of Soledar is “criticial”, and that the death toll is so high that “no one counts the dead”.
The soldier also added that he believed Ukraine’s military leaders would eventually abandon the fight for Soledar and questioned why they hadn’t done this yet. “Everyone understands that the city will be abandoned. Everyone understands this,” he said. “I just want to understand what the point [in fighting house to house] is. Why die, if we are going to leave it anyway today or tomorrow?”

I didn't think Ukrainian soldiers would admit this openly.

The mercenary group Wagner, which has spearheaded the assault, on Tuesday claimed to have taken control of the small salt-mining town although pockets of Ukrainian resistance were holding out in the centre.

Will Putin put this in his "epic Hoi4 encirclement" compilation?

Putin says situation in annexed regions of Ukraine is 'difficult'
The Russian president said the situation in Ukrainian regions that Moscow illegally annexed was “difficult in places”.

Vladimir Putin, speaking at a televised meeting with officials, also said Russia had all the resources it needed to improve life in the four Ukrainian regions that Moscow unilaterally claimed to have annexed in September, Reuters reports.

Russia’s illegally annexed of the four territories last September, which together make up 15% of Ukraine, marked the largest forcible takeover of territory in Europe since the second world war.

Anyone have his full speech?

People statfagging over losses are morons. Neither side will admit accurate numbers nor probably knows them. Theyll make propaganda numbers to be lapped up by their online simps.

Its strangely eerie how similar this war seems to be following the Winter War. Wonder if the new mobilisation will yield a February breakthrough?

They will probably not know accurate numbers for quite a few years. We still don't have accurate numbers for WW2 only big estimates (70-85 million according to wiki (and because Wiki is a """good source""" that claim is unsourced. Britannica puts it at 35-60 million(2) (that isn't sourced either))
