First explosion looks like a shaped charge going off, shooting a liquid jet of molten metal through the whole thing, and the second explosion is ammo or something else going off after being hit by the shaped charge.

Edit: This thread needs more WAAAAAGH!
"Russian soldiers have built a mobile automated turret platform practically in the trenches. Capable of suppressing fire and more precise aiming. Video from November, published just now."

Could see it being real, it's not that hard to build that. Hardest part for me would be procuring the twin PKMs.
Needs more Dakka. Otherwise good orcy tech

At least they died knowing their grandkids will be able to be groomed by pedos and transition at their heart's content
Slava ukraini 🏳️‍🌈
lol jokes aside, I do feel bad for them. They don't really have a clue out there what being under a US regime actual means. They're pretty much screwed either way. If they win, Ukraine becomes a US puppet state and will immediately demand a complete Jewification of the culture. If they lose, Russia will annex its claimed territories and the rest of Ukraine will still fall under US tyranny. People think that's a joke, but the US was attempting to do this in Afghanistan before the war was even won.

This kind of shit can be found just laying around randomly in Afghan dumping sites all over the place even now.

Latest updates report that Soledar has been taken with some pockets of Ukrainian resistance remaining.

This compromises Ukrainian positions in Bakhmut even further and prompted Zaluzhnyi to meet with Zelensky and recommend a withdrawal.

Apparently, because he's a fucking terrible war time leader, Zelensky rejected the idea of withdrawing. This would infact make him more like Churchill who was also a fucking awful battlefield commander.

Russsia just allocated 157 billion roubles to forcibly relocate 100,000 Ukrainians living in the Kherson area, to Siberia, keeping in line with the Kremlin's historical practice of lebensraum.

During this particular war, vatniggers typically perform this as a last resort act of terror before losing territory, which means that Ukraine is poised to retake the entire oblast by March, cutting off the land bridge to Crimea.

I'm tired of this war. I just want to know if my cousin is okay.
It's a fucking surreal curse, but as we have all been able to seen, we're surrounded by sociopaths that live isolated in their safety bubbles and until they get super ill/have accident/horrific life mishappening they'll just watch it all from afar like it's reality TV and treat thousands and thousands of deaths and half a modern country being leveled as if it's the same thing as mocking keffals and lizfongdingdong online.

Not Lebensraum, wrong dictator, this goes back to Stalin's habit of deporting entire populations of people, a habit that vatniggers gleefuly defend in their fevered worship of the Georgian manlet.

I definitely recall hearing Wagnerites repeatedly bitching about being denied artillery or drone support from neighboring regular army elements, in frontline footage & calls home.
According to the Jan 9th article from ISW Wagner and Prigozhin have definitely been boasting a lot about how they're the ones who took Soledar. I can definitely see a rift forming, especially when you look at the horribly divided command structure. Its no different from WW2 where the Waffen-SS answered not to the Wehrmacht guys on the ground but their own independent chain of command and also got all the shiniest toys before the Wehrmacht did, and funnily enough they too were mocked and derided by the Wehrmacht and denied an unsurprising amount of fire support when things got heavy.

For one, "just moved their ammo depots out of range :smug:" misses the disadvantages forced upon the Russians by having to move their ammo depots back >60-70km away from frontline positions.
Anyone who acts all smug about something like that should be immediately disregarded as too stupid to understand which end the of the gun goes bang.

That is NOT easily accomplished with the ordnance consumption of a modern military. Then, since you aren't driving 90mph down the autobahn to take the ammo in, that's 60-70km+ of vulnerability added when you try to ship out the ammo. More distance to attract drones, enemy infantry fire, or just good old fashioned CAS or artillery. That's without factoring in the time problem. From the looks of those videos, anything over 30mph is going to be RISKY when transporting ammo, and that's before you get into the shit condition all the Russian ordnance appears to be in. (For fuck's sake, at least brillo pad the rust and corrossion off the fucking rotation band on your artillery shells, you fucking mongs)

Plus, that completely ignores that the 60-70km is in the range of that HIMARS. Meaning that sure, the ammo supply point is out of range, but as soon as a vehicle leaves the depot and is spotted, the HIMARS guys start furiously masturbating with their hand over a big red "FUCK THEIR SHIT UP!" button.

TBF the smug icon was my addition, I think the author was just trying to convey that "Russia has adapted" but just failed to disclose the disadvantages - as you pointed out - of said adaptation.

Though one has to wonder the long-term attritional value of using an M31 rocket against a single ammo truck as opposed to a whole depot.

Sadly I don't think HIMARS can hit moving targets since its GPS/INS only. Not that there aren't other precision strike packages that can be used, since a loitering drone with a camera and a laser designator can call in just about anything else... like that Israeli-made 120mm mortar everyone in the West has adopted complete with plenty of guidance packages. Only a 7km range, but...

Oh, and there is Copperhead for 155mm shells which do use laser guidance.

The Soviet Union collapsed. Russia might be a successor, but if such a promise was made, it was with a state that no longer exists.
I think its funny that youre making this "ackshually that was the previouth regime so technicthly it doethnt count' argument like youre going to get a break in this hot shooting war so a fat greasy wizards of the coast war judge can come and set things straight by the rulebook. Like this is war motherfucker, theyve made a life and death matter out of rejecting this weaselly bullshit, who do you think youre fooling at this point? Either youre doing diplomacy in good faith or you arent, and if you arent, you can only fuck around so many times before you find out.

edit: scenes when the man whose argument is "the name changed so the promise doesnt matter anymore" rates you autistic

Probably some of the craziest combat footage I've seen.

Some tactical context to this. Basically they both fucked up and the Russian soldier got incredibly lucky that the Ukrainians thought he was on their side.

Russian soldier: You're assaulting through an objective. You do not have to accept a surrender, and obviously shouldn't run up to a position and get into an argument with the enemy.
Ukrainian soldiers: You always need to have 360 security. Both guys should not have been facing the same direction in that situation.
Tht poor fucker on the left is bleeding around his eye. Both of them seem confused as fuck and old as fuck too. RIP hohol conscripts...feel sorry for you.

So general retreat got replaced by Gerasimov of all of the generals.
Summary for those who didn't follow his actions:

So much for general Armageddon lolmao.
Gerasimov was the one responsible for Kherson withdrawal and presided over Kharkiv retreat. Perhaps Russia is swapping its commander based on who's the best fit for the job at the given moment.
Despite that, Gerasimov should not be underestimated. After all, he came up with Gerasimov Doctrine that Russia used to great effect in 2014's Crimea takeover. 2022's invasion of Ukraine is the first serious speed-bump Russia hit since it adopted Gerasimov's ideas.

Considering that most of central Europe and the Balkans are hooked on the Belt and Road Initiative, that's gonna be one hell of a buffer.

We will see. Poland was not afraid to ban Huawei and put Huawei employees (some of them Chinese citizens with links to CCP) under arrest and on trial over espionage. Lithuania does not seem to worry about China's opinions much either as it started a spat with China over Taiwan's status. Romania banned Chinese companies and investments from several industries, including energy and telecoms. Czechs had a corruption scandal where Chinese companies were heavily involved. People were tried, economic cooperation with China was limited, and Czechs followed Lithuania in talking about Taiwan's independence.
Belt and Road itself appears to be sidelined anyway. Xi does not pay it nearly as much lip-service as he did in mid 2010s. Rhetoric around the project changed since then from the grandiose "China's own initiative to build a new silk road" to more passive "a shared cooperation of many nations." Global Development Initiative seems to be CCP's favorite now. GDI resembles a scaled down BRI with a stronger focus on developing countries.
