my account name censored in case i want to do more trolling under that guise i invented, but me and a friend were live reacting to the shitshow i caused and it was hilarious. i like lore's stuff, i even like lore if this story is true, but his fanbase fucking deserved this you can get a glimpse of the shit they said but theres more. but thats why this is kinda scattered about

Dan Bell and longtime collaborator Rick Serra are apparently broken up. I don't know what exactly happened, but Dan has been on a downward slope for a while now. According to Rick's youtube announcement Dan is going to have a stream dedicated to blasting Rick in the near future.

OH my god! Lore has just done something stupid, AGAIN!
Alright recap: Lorerunner is a youtuber who used to do this youtube series called Ruminations, in his own words where he deliberately overanalyzes a work usually focusing on character motivation or theories about ofc. the lore in order to deepen an appreciation for the work whether it's good or bad. Ruminations also review the work itself, and they were enjoyable for someone like me because they were good background noise because it was just him talking and discussing something with no clips, skits, music or editing and credit to him he was extremely good at talking without a script. He'd remember stuff really well, wouldnt lose his train of thought and didnt stutter much. I am aware that's incredibly autistic
Lore has been discussed in this thread for various reasons, namely accusations of pedophilia and domestic violence which I have recently posted him saying how these accusations are false. I'll let you to decide if he's innocent or guilty, but whether he's a diddler or not he's actually done some stupid, lolcowish youtube career-ending stuff these past few months completely divorced from that which will kill his channel unrelated to these accusations
First up, I'll explain the system he used to review games and movies. If you were a patron of his every year you could suggest a movie during a stream called the Floodgates, it gets enough votes and he will Ruminate on it. His Rumes are then recorded in bulk and published thruout the next year. So in 2021 people suggested all the Pixar movies, in 2022 we got all of those as a dripfeed with Soul closing it in December. This leads us to his first mistake, he's ending movie ruminations. Despite his most popular videos being movie ruminations he's ending them. Too much work and he's lazy, I guess
Now, onto his games. Essentially his games are crowd-funded. You donate an amount of money and tell him what game you want, if it isnt on the veto list (yes a guy taking your money has the arrogance to have a veto list: https://lorerunner.com/veto) it will get added to this giant list here: https://lorerunner.com/the-list - Where now depending on the length of the game, how many people have donated to it, how much money is donated to it and whether Lore personally wants to play it the game will require different amounts of money to be played and when it gets up to that amount he will play it. Yes, this is a massive grift. Now what used to happen is that after a game is streamed he reviews it on stream, creating these bullet points of positives and negatives then releases a Rumination fleshing out these points and it also acts to summarize the stream and to promote his general monetization scheme. It was a good system, until he stopped doing Ruminations because a half hour out of his day post-stream to talk about a game he just played was too much for him. He says he does too much work but a lot of the work he does is shit no one needs
Anyway so now Ruminations are axed, despite them getting from 1k to 30k views per vid and being way more popular than his other videos they're gone. So now Lore's youtube is tanked. He's tried replacing Ruminations with stream highlights but month old Ruminations are reaching 1k and a Stream Highlight only gets about 500 if it's a game like DMC3. The reason his other stuff isnt popular is because his streams are only for a specific cult of personality, he's not a charismatic streamer but they gave him so much money that he thinks he can live off of his paypiggies forever. So no need to cultivate a wider audience with Ruminations, so bye bye structured content. But now, with his views in the toilet he's dropped a giganuke on his audience

Because if he manages to stream everything in his streaming queue before anything gets funded he adds the most funded games onto his queue so by that system he could concievably play something that only has one dollar added to it. I'm shocked at how this is how he ends his career

That’s a bummer then. I remember enjoying their collabs—honestly if Rick wanted to he could have his own channel. I could see him being decent at it with his health inspector knowledge.

Rick does have his own channel, he mostly live streams himself drinking and chatting. I love Rick but he doesn't have the skills or patience for video production, but he has a lot going on in his life (in the positive way, he's a grandfather and still plays in a band I think)

Because he finally finished the things to say, so he's now trying to latch onto whatever thing happen.

I lost interest with him when his videos were starting to be needlessly elongated, in my opinion, he could explain something in 5 minutes but instead he would take 15 and still not reach the point. Apparently he now takes 45 and spergs out on twitter and mastodon. How much until he becomes as insufferable as hbomberguy?

Minor update on the lorerunner situation: after backlash he walked back his decision a bit. He's still cutting 147 games from his list and not offering refunds to those who donated to them, but he's not doing the donate a dollar to save three games thing. So essentially he's still doing it but he's rebranded it. Still, eh I guess it's better than outright grifting money from your followers? He's also now no longer doing Avatar TLA reviews, which had over 600 dollars donated to it

(Paul from) Mitten Squad. Made some really fun Fallout/Skyrim challenge videos, had a great sense of humor and a really impressive skill at writing entertaining scripts for his videos. I use the past tense because after a few years of sobriety he went on a drunken bender and almost died of alcohol poisoning last year. His last Twitter post was from November and after lashing out publicly it's doubtful he'll make anything new if his liver hasn't failed him already

For anyone who doesn't know, Mr. Regular used to be quite heavily involved in the Pittsburgh furry scene. Went to Anthrocon for years and years as far as I can tell. I'm not sure why he left and most of his furry postings from back then have been scrubbed from the Internet, but there's still a few things if you look up his old fursona name: Kutztown Dragon.
